IGN writes: "When we started early prototype work on the combat for the X-Men Origins: Wolverine video game, we knew we wanted to knock it out of the park.

Looking at the big picture, we had programmers, animators, designers, artists, and sound engineers, all of whom would play important roles in creating the "feel" of Wolverine's fighting style. In order to put all this talent together to make great combat that captured the essence of Wolverine, we created a tool called the Fightstyles system".
