Brokerage firm A.G. Edwards has found interactive entertainment too popular to ignore, and will begin coverage of the industry with a very bullish outlook.
A.G. Edwards analyst William Kreher is launching coverage of the games industry with an "Over-weight" rating. But obesity is a good thing in this case.
Positive trends that Kreher sees within the games industry include game makers' efforts to expand the age of the target audience, an increase in female gamers and projected growth in the youth market through 2020.
He also acknowledged that major publishers are well-positioned to take advantage of growth in the mobile, online and in-game ad markets, which combined could generate $5 billion for the industry annually.
