Call of Duty: World at War Map Pack 2 coming in June

Activision and Treyarch announced today the next call of Call of Duty: World at War map pack (Map Pack 2). Watch for three new multiplayer maps, along with one new Nazi Zombie map. Here are the details from Activision:

"Online, players will compete in "Banzai," and fight for control of a tall, river bridge, deep within enemy territory; face down foes in a shattered Russian train yard in "Corrosion"; and struggle to control a bombed-out submarine base in the close-quarter map, "Sub Pens." In "Shi No Numa" (Zombie Swamp), Imperial Zombies rise from misty swamps in an all new co-op experience, with a level that features a mix of traps, flaming Hell Hounds, Perk machines and the deadly, new Wunderwaffe DG-2, as well as 10 new Xbox 360 Achievements/PS3 Trophies that can be earned along the way."

Public service announcement:

Console owners shelled out $10 for maps while PC gamers got them all for FREE. Good way to tell your fans how you care about them right? Don't support anymore paid DLC....unless you like paying for someone getting maps while you get screwed.

I don't care if PC gamers are used to getting patches, updates, and DLC for free. Guess what? It shouldn't be an expected standard. Things cost money. If you don't want to buy DLC...don't. Its sad when publishers have to tip toe around PC gamers feelings because they threaten to pirate their game as protest. Publishers should skip PC retail all together. Support consoles- if we are paying $60 for games and willing to pay for a million map packs, they should remember who makes them more money. They shouldn't get preferential treatment.

Sorry for the rant but watch as the second map pack is released for another $10 fee for playing on a console instead of a PC.

the reason that they charge you is console platform holders ( M$ and $ony) have you by the balls. IF a paid map pack came out on PC the maps would just be extracted and put into the regular non paid version anyway. Cant do that on consoles.

Hence why the PC shouldn't get Map Pack 2. If they get it for free, why make it for them? Also, perhaps the maps would be cheaper if in fact a PC version wasn't made. Charge $2-$5 per map pack and millions more people would be willing to pay, including the PC fanboy (maybe).

Sweet!!! I can't believe Treyarch is actually proving pretty good post launch support with this game. 4 Title Updates with another one on the way, several hotfixes, and 2 DLC packs. **GASPS** That was a boat load more than what Infinity Ward did. Good job Treyarch!!!

Great support from treyarch

Lord_Ranos3490d ago

Ha!! take that losers who think that Treyarch is not as good as Infinity ward

iHEARTboobs3490d ago

Well, they at least support their game better than IW did.

I feel sorry for the guys at Treyarch. They'll never be properly appreciated for their work even though they make fun games and then support them well after release.

Treyarch are great. I did and still do think their previous COD games are terrible and wernt anywhere near as good as IW's. But I think they did a great job with COD5, and although it wasnt as epic as COD4 it still is one of the best current shooters, and they actually support their game, unlike IW who dumped their game after 1 map pack and a patch that didnt even fix anything.

However their DLC is way to expensive, double the price of what it should be. But because its so popular they know people will buy it.
