MUMBAI, MAR 26: The gaming industry in India is growing at CAGR of 78% and mobile gaming, PC and console are expected to add to the pie. Industry players also feel that cafes will be the growth drivers for gaming in the country. "However the cafe in India needs to be more organised," said Rohit Sharma, COO, Zapak Digital Entertainment. The size of the mobile gaming in India is growing phenomenally with more opportunity for content creation, said experts at a session on gaming at the Ficci-Frames 2007.
India, by 2010, will have 200 m Internet users, 40 m broadband users with 50% of the population below the age group of 25 years. According to Sharma, there are some gaps, which India needs to overcome.
