Xbox 360 maker drops production

Microsoft looks set to lose one of its Xbox 360 production partners, according to Economic Daily News, one of China's top financial papers.

Wistron will stop producing the console within the next couple of months, with sources suggesting a variety of reasons. According to DigiTimes, The Vole has added Celistica to the roster of suppliers that produce the 360 console to spec, and is in the process of playing manufacturers off against each other to get the cost of the console down.

build there own Fab and build the console themselves. That way they have more control over the quality of there product and can reduce cost at there discretion.

With most all consoles breaking its only a matter of time before people get fed up.

With a user name with Ps3007 i wouldnt expect less

r10003832d ago

yea that was probably expected... but you would probably think I'm making this up...

My coworker is on his SIXTH xbox 360... yup thats right his SIXTH... I'm amazed he keeps going to back to that MS?

PS3007 is just scared of the succes of the 360. Still has to do 9 million units to catch up with the PS3 dude!

I have many, many friends with a 360 and they have allmost all no single problem with their 360's. On the other side, many of them owned a PS2 and many of them got the DVD to stop working after a short time.

MS gets it repaired or send a new one within weeks. Sony takes the console for months, they don't repair or let you pay a lot of money to get it done. Their lasers are known to be rubbish, so I am curious how long those BluRay players in the PS3 will hold

r10003832d ago

Oh yea... I also have buddies who still on their launch 360 with no problems...

and on the same note... the ps2 that I got on it's launch worked with no problems.. until i traded it in....

EVERYONE WITH HALF A BRAIN KNOWS that every person with a problem post his issue like it is news we also know people that do not take care of their stuff are riding the faulty 360 train and we are aware that the 360s base is large.

power of Green 3832d ago (Edited 3832d ago )

No one would stick to anyone company if that were true. lol You're FULLOFSHIT!. 6 times?, its the way he's taking care of it or MS couldn't figure out what was wrong with it and both parties must have exchanged that same 360 6 times. No ony if his luck was good he could win the lotto if all 6 360s were different, which i doubt that is if this story is even true coming from a known hardcore PS fan.

ANYWAYS LETS TRY AND STAY ON TOPIC ITS PEOPLE LIKE YOU THAT EXAGGERATE REALITY TO THE POINT THAT PEOPLE CANT TELL WHAT TRUE OR NOT OR WHAT REAL AND WHATS FICTION, SO STOP IT A KID COULD SPILL WATER ON HIS 360; REPORT IT ON THE WEB AND PEOPLE LIKE YOU WILL NOT CARE HOW THE 360 WAS BROKE.

Bad_Karma3832d ago

MART you are sooo full of shiiit .. i don't mean about 360`s breaking down (which it TRUE btw) or anything but to come here and blatantly lie saying you have friends and what makes it worse is you used the word MANY right before FRIENDS .

SmokeyMcBear3832d ago

hahahahaha... now that my friend, is classic, good karma for you

At least, I think this is good news. Adding one partner and losing another makes sense. It means that Microsoft may have got a better deal and/or they're moving to production of another motherboard. (65nm chips anyone?)

Either way, lowering the costs for Microsoft now will mean better services or lower retail prices sooner.
