what the heck is that guy up there talking about?

TheColbertinator3224d ago

@qface64

His first language is not English so don't mind his spelling. He is talking about a group of elite bankers and corrupt politicians seeking to plunge the world in an economic recession so the wealth and power is manipulated in their favor.

You can research it or ignore it.

The Microsoft sidewinder controller released in 1998 that had the first motion control for a game (the game Microsoft: flight simulator) gave birth to it. In 2005 at E3 Bill gates got on stage and reminded people of it! No one has disagreed and I have one of the original sidewinder joystiqs so I know it exist. How is the Eye toy which came years later talking about giving birth? It is not even a controller that is mimicked. Please, PS3 fantoys! can't give credit where credit is do!

" The Microsoft sidewinder controller released in 1998 that had the first motion control for a game "

Actually atari had one too.

The simple thing people don't get is that Nintendo made "motion-controls" primary over gamepads.
I think thats why they are more known for motion controls because they promoted their product to be all about that.
The eye-toy is not something that was used on high priority.
And motion controls were already wanted way before the eye-toy, the design and hardware was just either to expensive or there was lack of processing powers.
Atari did it with one of their joystick, Nintendo tried it with the powerglove. And if we could consider pointing devices as motion controls then The super Scope and the nes gun were already there.

" He is talking about a group of elite bankers and corrupt politicians seeking to plunge the world in an economic recession so the wealth and power is manipulated in their favor. "

Well its been done before =P. So lets not be surprised if it were to happen again.

Information Minister3224d ago

Why the sarcasm? It's true. The Atari 2600 gave birth to all modern consoles.

@1.6 - The powerglove had motion controls long before Mr. Gates "came up" with the idea.

WildArmed3223d ago

if you really think Atari gave birth to them,
then you guys aren't giving the engineers/developers enough credit.

The ONLY difference is that the wii uses waggle controllers and the motion sensor bar, instead of just cameras to track your movement.

Trashy Nintendo. Stealing ideas and calling it innovation...

-GametimeUK-3224d ago

So didnt Sony "steal" the idea of making a console in the first place by your logic?

WildArmed3223d ago

no!
Sony stole the idea of using english letters in thier name!

Didn't read it but, the Wii was conceived in 2001, when the Gamecube was near in its shine concepts were already being talked about, in 2004 Nintendo talked to the public about it, and in 2005 it was unveiled. They wanted to change the way people interacted with games and that they did. Most likely the development of the actual hardware began somewhere in 2003 if they were to get it out by 06. The Eye Toy was released on the November 2003, there is no way they could have took'n the ideas from Eye Toy, that and it wasn't such a big hit when released so why would Nintendo go that route?

Sony Rep3224d ago (Edited 3224d ago )

How long was the Eye Toy in development before being revealed in 2002? How long was talk of the Eye Toy floating around the development community before being launched in 2003?

Also, the Eye Toy has sold 10.5mil units to date.

they eye toy was the biggest waste of money at least the play station eye im guessing that's the ps3's eye toy huge waste of money

as for the ps2 eye toy that one was alright for a bit the games did get boring really really fast but it was still pretty fun

ThatArtGuy3224d ago

It's an indispensable tool for making pictures and textures in LittleBigPlanet. The PS3Eye is also funny as all get out to see people's faces when racing/takingdown racers in Burnout.

qface643224d ago

i don't really like little big planet so i can't really use it for that and i can't even play eye of judgement there's no one top lay with
