I Want the DSi, So What's Stopping Me?

Kombo Writes: "Here it is, April 7th as I write this little blogglet. I'm tired, cranky and bitter to be getting back to reality. I just got married and came home from my incredible honeymoon late last night. Life's been great for the last few weeks. We didn't spend nearly as much money as we'd anticipated, so I've got some extra cash lying around.

I'd been hoping for this exact scenario. My DS Lite broke months ago. I wanted to come back from my honeymoon and rush to the store in order to snag a DSi. But I didn't. I still haven't. I like the additions and the look of the upgraded handheld, but I still haven't made my way out to the store. And, for the life of me, I can't figure out why I haven't picked it up yet.

So, what in the hell has been stopping me?

I've got a few things that I've been mulling over for the last few days. I'm trying to come up with a reason to buy the DSi, and all I've developed are reasons why I should simply hold off. What are they? All right… here we go. "

The story is too old to be commented.

- The fact that the same thing came out 3 times already this time with a missing GBA slot and the fact Nintendo is becoming like Apple with releasing upgraded and better models of the same product are two reasons.

i just picked up the blue one. it is much better than expected. in fact, i am typing this post using the dsi browser. a drag rright now is no flash support. that should be fixed at some point.

you need to see whatthe potential couuld be. i am looking forward to virtual handheld games like neogeo pocket, lynx, gb/gba/gbc, gamegear. the loss of gba slot is no big deal if you already have a gba or gbamicro.

overall i give it an 8

What happened there little buddy is you went on your honeymoon and became a man...lol! You don't need to play games... that's kids stuff...Hahaha!

Just kidding!

I had problems deciding if I wanted the DSi as well. But I just said hell with it and bought one. I like it more than the DS lite. It feels more like a DS made for adults. And when the updates start coming, who knows what this thing will be able to do.

I notice there are alot of people saying they don't want it, and its a waste of money. I say they should get their hands on one and try it out for a while before they make their decision.

BTW, you guys do know the DSi has a more powerful CPU and RAM, right? And that future games will be made to take advantage of that, right?

I kinda have an issue with the lack of backwards compatibility, and the fact that it is supposed to be okay, because we can download the games now... So they want me to re-buy the games I already own? No thanks, I'll keep my current DS.

use the extra cash to make a gift for your wife !!

If your wife like video games it's fine but if she dilikes them then , using that cash would be a waste
