GameCloud: Modern Warfare 2 last part of the Modern Warfare series?

Activision reported in a interview they think Modern Warfare 2 will be the best shooter ever. Ever? Could this mean that Modern Warfare 2 will be the last part of the Modern Warfare series?

What? this logic makes absolutely no sense. Just because they think it will be the best game ever does not mean they are going to abandon it...wtf? plus Activision would NEVER let them drop such a lucrative title.

This seems like a cheap and poorly thought out attempt at getting website hits from unsuspecting fans

i dont think they will stop making FPS just yet as they can still make alot of money on them.

im happy Gayarch now has the COD name atleast it means IW can break free from COD and start something new and better

this game will be more of the same cod 4 and 5. its not a bad thing but lets call it what it is, a arcade shooter that feels like a dude going around on a unicycle and shooting things. i loved cod 4 and 5, but i could never believe this will be the best shooter on the market with 7gbs of space . killzone 2 is the best since the graphics are the best, its physics are the best, lag free, no bullet lag, the character pacing are real, individual bullet tracking, good story line that makes sense, supports 32 player online, a badge and ribbon ranking system that is second to no other, and a few other plusses.

i must say though that cod 4 and 5 are good games amoung other normal multiplatform games but killzone 2 is of another class in another school.

I agreed with you there man. The sad part of the Only on PS3 thing is that many people are not going to check KZ2 out and see for themselves what the fuss is all about.

That said, I am not excited at all about MW2 but BioShock 2. I want to see how can they push the storytelling and the rpgish-gameplay in the new interation. No more arcadey shooters for me.

'The best ever' is a very common phrase. I think their reading to much into that. Its just a way of saying 'Its really, really...really good'.

Beside as tech move and game get more advanced, i'm sure something will out do it one day. Unless the world ends tomorrow.

I hate it when people look too far into comments made by devs. All the guy was trying to say was that this is going to be a REALLY great game. He was not secretly trying to reveal that this will be the last in a series that just freaking started!

They wouldn't have dropped the Call of Duty name if they were just going to make Modern Warfare 2 and stop there. This game will break all sales records, my unborn child is pumped for this game.

They wont abandon something that makes em rich, maybe they say it to hype up the game. If activision abandones modern ware fare its only because infinity ward has plans to make games without activision. I wouldnt blame them after they give cod5 to treyarch.. made no sence cod4 was soo successful compared to the last treyarch version.

Yea not sure where they will take the battles next, but they have found a proven formula that sells like hotcakes. Seems like a huge moneymaker i can't see them just dropping it. Prop they are moving on to a different local rather than MW, not sure how lame it would be but WW1 I think could be cool lol. It's always WW2

I think people need to stop thinking of releasing sequels every year or two and focus on making a comprehensive game with a good engine and whatnot then just expand via DLC.

If Modern Warfare 2 sells as well as its predecessor, than expect a sequel. Most likely 2 years later, with a mediocre Treyarch release in-between. Welcome to reality...

What they really should do is forget the single player all together and make a solely online game, tons of maps, unlockables etc. I think with this series no one would miss the single player too much. unless thats just me- i blazed through the single and did nothing after that but online play all the time
