Orange: Lux-Pain Review

Orange:

"But one area where the game does excel is in looks. It's a very stylish product, with anime characters, backdrops and a few cut-scenes that are impressive by DS standards. It's just not enough though. What little gameplay there is consists of scraping at a character to draw the worm from their brain. It's both boring and unpleasant. Despite the large cast, the story is meaningless and lacks the kooky and interesting characterisation we like to see in Japanese games. This would be fine if instead there were strong easy-to-relate-to characters and incidents, but there aren't. It just goes to show: not every Japanese game you see with a big-eyed cutey on the cover can be a masterwork. Lux-Pain fails to even be competent."

GamesWeasel: Lux Pain Review

GamesWeasel writes: "Luckily the voiceover work is better. A decent amount of the dialogue is actually spoken by some worthwhile actors and while what they are saying doesn't often match up with what's on the screen, it usually makes a lot more sense. However it is also out of sync with the dialogue onscreen which often means you will often have finished reading it before it before the dialogue is half way through. All the music and sound effects are wonderfully atmospheric; the laments of lingering doubts and forgotten ghosts, it might be advisable to turn the volume up and close your eyes. You won't be missing too much apart from some shoddy English usage and barely animated drawings".
