Why We Game - To Compete

Competition has been around for ages. It's a means to define self-worth for anything valuable to that person's self-esteem. It arises when two or more parties strive for a goal that cannot be shared; and that goal can be anything – money, respect, recognition, gifts – anything that brings a sense of satisfaction to the individual. It motivates self-improvement to levels beyond what we can grasp. And it's one of the many things that encourage growth, in the competition sense, in the gaming community.
