Factor 5 had some troubled years in recent history. How did it come to that point when everything looked quite promising in 2002?
On this site, look at the web adress it links to; http://goneisgone.blogspot.... Check out 'Virus' underneath 'leaked concept art'. Look at description of 'Virus'. Hasn't 'Project V' been said to be an retro looking arcade game for PSN? Doesn't Virus look like a 'arcade game for PSN?' with a 'V' in the name? Don't projects get outsourced? Hmm...
i think project v is by a dev called 'Just Add Water' though. It's a new europe based dev, though, so perhaps some factor 5 guys brought it there?
Bingo. JAW maybe got the project passed on from F5 by Sony. Much like the whole Star Wars Battlefront 3 situation.
i guess we'll see at e3 when they announce it
Well, Factor5 started in Germany...
Kinda reminded me of Dead Space a little, its a shame it got canceled but its not like Sony havnt got any more exclusives up there sleeves BRING ON HEAVY RAIN
factor 5's games were always conceptually great, and visually awesome. it's just, some of them got stuck up in the actual gameplay(not just singling out lair, either).
I have a feeling you have never played Lair while the game wasn't perfect as no game is , the gameplay was not broken contrary to what reviewers stated , sometimes people just dont like to try new things and thats what happened with Lair and it's Motion controls , had Sony given Factor 5 6 more months to polish up Lair the game would have been great not good.
kinda sad that this got canceled, but then i remember lair and...
you think to yourself why didn't you play this cool game made by awesome devs... hmmm :) and I dont know why people think that Lair was the reason for Factor 5 Downfall .. Sony funded development for the game ....
is actually pretty top notch in the gaming world he's the president of some game developer organization. Its kind of sad seeing his company go to the crap hole. I think Sony should take the opportunity and buy them out and reorganize the team. Eventhough Lair flopped; its concept was still pretty good. It's got some potentials.
Looks like a better version of lost planet.
shame Lair flopped.. Factor 5 would be a good 2nd party developer for Sony
Sony should have acquired them can you imagine a Rogue Squadron game on the PS3.. :)
With the missed deadlines, development problems, and had all kinds of quality issues; there's no way Sony would want to acquire them. In fact Sony actually turned them away from further exclusives, as it seems to suggest. I think Lair could have been a lot better game than what they came out with.
Lair 2 FTW.
I would have loved these cool PSN games. I think the one even looks like a it could have been a new version of Turrican. I hope Factor 5 can get out of this trouble and do fine. I also hope because Lair did not sell as well as Sony would have liked it to. This does not mean Factor 5 will not work with Sony again. Because even though Lair was not a great game Factor 5 has made some awesome games and I think if Factor 5 could bring some of there old classics and even some new ones to PSN that would be pretty cool.
