OXM UK has listed gamertags that they are sick of seeing on Xbox Live. The list includes those who replace letters with numbers, call themselves 'sniper' and name themselves after videogame characters.
hahah good list What about people who use "420" at the end of their name? Come on people, you're not cool because you use marijuana and when you put that in your name we are all laughing at you, out loud and a lot.
Whats the number 420 got to do with weed apart from that forum. I don't get it.
420 is the day when all pot heads smoke marijuana excessively. It's like a hippy christmas. I don't smoke marijuana, so I don't know where it orginated from, but that's the April 20th, aka 4/20. Pick Pot smoking day.
Its a police call sign, that has something to do with pot.
its from here http://en.wikipedia.org/wik... On topic, yea I think the 420 is lame, really lame.
you guys are just a bunch of squares
They could have just used "42" and not looked so silly.
I like the herb too. I had an alt char on MGO named "Laughing Stoner" for a while.
Are silly and need to find some more time to game and less time to pitch a fit about people's tags. When did it become fashionable to complain about how people write out their gamer tags or PSN IDs. lol
yeah you have a point but I have to admit that I have come across my fair share of Gamertags that were annoying as hell.
I only ever play games when I'm high! It's the best way to go! But I agree about the 420 thing.
That's incorrect, it is not a police code. I work law enforcement and I know that codes differ depending on departments but a i know most codes that are common start with 10-#...I never heard of anyone use 420 for any code, especially for a violation of drug/controlled substance act.
That's just what I heard years ago, just did some research on it and a lot of people used to think that's what it meant but its not. Looks like it was just some teens that would meet up at 4:20 to smoke out.
You make a good point.. lol. But, I feel what the author is saying.. I'll be playin a co-op game, and this person on my team will have a name like vvh4txXx455xXx, or something like that. And, I'm thinkin.. hmm, what the hell do I call this guy? v-v-h-4?? Or how about, "what ass???" Or, this tag that was i4cuna2x4, what would you say? Cuna? Which that tag stand for: I foresee you in a 2x4 box. Iuno, really.. Some tags are just annoying when playing co-op games and you are trying to get their attention. Maybe I'm just rambling, I don't really know right now.. lol.
420 is the most over used in any tag, its so annoying like tom cruise
There'd be fewer terrible Gamertags if Microsoft made it easier to reclaim your old ones when your credit card expires.
ive been told mine is very unique and different and does have a meaning. lol. mine is ninlenbox! woot!
what does your name mean?
Good question.............. lol.
The main problem I have is that I don't want to spend an hour trying to come up with something original...Especially when I haven't even started to play a game yet.I think of something..type it...it's taken so I say F*** it...I am one of those who adds number 'cause I don't have the patience for the ol' trial'n'error
i just spell mine all wEiRd
An original or well thought out name will always be better than "Batman432" or "MasterChief6549173659173 "
I used one of the names from the random generator to create an american account (community games pls). Some of them are really funny. I picked Faultiest Animal.
irritating and unoriginal tags.
good list. I hate the numbers for letters people myself lol.
Agreed. Sometimes I just sit there and think.. uhm, is that supposed to mean something, or did the get bored and put random letters and numbers!? Rawr! >.<
Your gamertags are amazing! Bubbles!
nice tag buddy bubbles+ !(^^)! (i want change mine...)
I'm pretty proud to have an original ID for both PSN and XBL :D The more you try to be "cool", the more chances you have to enter in the generic nicknames. Like "Cloud", "Squall", "Dante", "Hitman", "Snake", etc... Sometimes you may have to spend an hour or two watching everything around to get an idea but it's really worth it. My tips: try to make the smaller and the easier to say or remember.
anyone notice the irony of "PrivateRyan" posting this
I don't mind "xxxGamertagxxx" or "Gamertag420" or the unoriginal "Master Chief". I just want to be able to pronounce it. There's nothing worse than playing a team based game and trying to talk to a teammate named "34killto56xdm". What do you call that guy!?
It is just ridiculous funny to hear someone over the microphone say ''Master Chief, cover me I will plant the bomb''. I saw one guy, who had a name like BigPimpinBalla. Those are just ridiculous names, that you laugh off.
in that case i call them by the first characters, in this case denawayne id say 34, or sometimes i use the last few characters in that case xdm. i also hate numbers for letters as well in gamertags. but sometimes you do find some funny ones. i wanted my g/f to change hers in which she did because she had numbers for letters. demented spirit, my xbl name. no numbers, no xxx something xxx all original.
Well mine is just a few letters from my first and last name along with the number 7. I was given a random email address based on my name, back when I first set up my email account and since I know it by heart I use it on lots of things. Sorry to be one of the number people but I just really don't want to have to remember a bunch of different Names for every site I go too. So I went with the one I know best.
Thats probably one of the most credible stories as to why you chose yr gamertag name. I really like your reason, it makes the numbers have meaning too!
Good list...I have seen some funny GT too such as "WTF? a panda" and "Too short to 69".
The most over-used GT is like XxS1np3rElit3xX or ELITESNIPER.
And people with sniper in their name usually suck with the sniper.
it's something similar to my n4g name
DAMN! Just when I was thinking of changing my gamertag to XxxSnipaChRiStIaNhOuRG4NG5T4xx XxXx09 Surprisingly while i searched for it without the year on it, it was already taken. so i stuck a date on, i was devestated. But now that I know all these things aren't cool, I might just have to keep my regular Gamertag!
lol, good stuff man.
wouldnt have worked...too many characters, lmao ;)
Who says a gamertag HAS to reflect you? This article fails.
I think it's really lame to see anyone with a gamer tag or clan tag saying rape, 420, or when they make the following: 8=>(really lame). Or any racial tag in a hateful manner. It's funny to see sometimes what people will put. Two of my favorites for some reason were babypuncher and toastmanbob
Hey! I have 3 numbers at the end of my gamertag haha.
That's my buddies and it pretty funny. I like mine SoCalR6 cause it's the same for everything, web forums, Live and PSN. I did create a new one for my UK PSN acct. SoCalBlackRifle You like? It's a tribute to my AR-15
I saw someone with the GT. FATCHICSNEEDLVE2
OPRAHSVAJAYJAY thats a PSN name though, but I thought it was hilarious.
A guy I live near had the GT fruitbat(nickname from school)and changed it because loads of people apparently thought it meant he was gay and abused him massively.Which is sad, really, as he's been called that for, like, 15 years now! Some make me cringe but I never say anything as people might hate mine(which is always mastiffchild-well almost always)which I got as my parents always had a few mastiffs when I was a kid. To this day I also have one. The incredibly dopey Dogue de Bordeaux Looey(who provides the charming pic for my avatar here)is actually watching me right now. Funnily enough it does make me wince when other owners call theirs Hooch after the Tom Hanks film Dogue. I guess I may annoy dog haters or cat lovers though. I've only come across one Master Cheif GT ever if I'm honest and I assumed it was just a kid. Loads try to put a sniper vatiant in them though and also gangsta. I just use the same one though so I can't call them lazy.
STICKzophrenic - original and always available.
From my personal experience on Live: ~Most people with "sniper" in their names can't hit the broadside of a battleship with a sniper rifle, let alone another player's head; ~Most "gangsta/gangstar" ones are teenage white kids who talk a far better game than they play, and usually rap (badly) into their mics; As for mine: One Eyed Tigh. I'm a huge Battlestar Galactica fan, and the character of Tigh had an eye ripped out at the beginning of season 3...and "One Eyed Tigh" just popped into my head.
based on a specific game EG "CoD4master" And people who leave there controller idle while they went to the kitchen, and a friend decides to mess around with the details. EG "Phantom_T"
"ANYWAY. You are not Master Chief. You are not Marcus Fenix. You are not Duke Nukem or Agent 47 or Sam Fisher or Chris Redfield. You are you. So have a gamertag that reflects it." It sounds like he is wasting his time crying about what other people do with their gamertags. If gamertags like they really make you that angry for you to go and post a whole list about it then you need something other than games in your life. I guess when this kid isn't crying about the stuff the Americans get and Europe doesn't get on the XBLM he enjoys crying about other people's gamertags.
x or X on either side of their name or "v2" really piss me off.
Used the name Adropacrich2 for a while and so it seemed daft to change it any Someone spelt my name wrong in a game competition they had at our local library and it grew from that Mine is a bit daft i guess but has an identity to me and all that know me online, so i'm happy with that
Theres only one BathyJ. ;)
one of my favs was playing halo2 and seeing some guy called butt rapist running around lol...
