StarCraft II lead game designer, Dustin Browder, claims the game is nowhere near as complete as it looks.
they must trying 2 polish the game as best as they can but iam tired of waiting. in the end we have 2 wait, back 2 play wow now :)
It never is with Blizzard...
Well, they HAVE been known to release games occasionally...
It feels like this development process is getting slower with every game they release :( @Leord: the last full blown game they've released was the original World of Warcraft. So it has been quite a while since they released a full game!
Yeah, there REALLY is a point where you need to stop polishing, and getting somewhere... A loved project will never truly be finished, regardless of what it is, but at some point you just need to cut it short.
"It feels like this development process is getting slower with every game they release" you only have to look at games like diablo2, starcraft and warcraft 3 (still being patched) to see that if you really polish a game and get it right people will buy and play it many years after release date.
Sounds like they're getting tired of being asked when the game will be finished.
Well it certainly looks close to completion!
Looks can be deceiving, but I agree with you that it looks pretty nice already. What makes me wonder is what is taking them so damn long. The units seem to be pretty solid now (not to many big changes). All I can think of is that the artists are to busy with SP to be thinking of Zerg blood (structures) or they are being pulled away again!
That's a major bummer =(
yer well, the longer they take the better imo, perfect the game, make it as good as it can be, take WotLK for example, it was no where near complete when released and was FULL of bugs and whatnot. in short, would love to see it sooner but the longer they take, the better it will be
I dunno how anyone can really be all that surprised by this, to be honest.
11 years and still waiting! I think that says enough :(
Dustin, the man the myth the legend. Blizzard sure is slooooow
as long as when they release all 3 versions of starcraft they dont use to bug test in the sense that when we get the 3rd game which i believe atm is gonna protoss will end up being the completed one. If you know what I mean
Yeah, but I don;t think they would do that. They didn't really with Brood War, anyway.
Tweak, balance, polish... repeat. Better to make the game as perfect as possible than face the complaints of a million whiners claiming something is unbalanced, buggy or broken! (Actually they'll probably do that no matter what - can't please some people!) Starcraft II goes beyond being just a game. Competitive Starcraft is an industry in some countries, and I'm sure Blizzard would like that to continue.
This is dumb. This better come out this year.
there is no way blizz would release a flawed version of starcraft 2. The entire country of South Korea would show up at their studio to kill them all. Seriously, they have a starcraft channel that broadcasts matches on TV
porting it to the PS3/360. My Laptop PC is just crap.
i don't care how good their games are this is bs, why did they announce it, why not just announce it 12 months before release i swear i've been waiting like 2 years since it was first announced for any solid news as to when its coming out seeing as they take so long between games they better make this game scale well, ( you know how diablo 2 has like 2 low res settings), they need to make it able to be cranked up so that in a few years they don;t look as shi+ as old blizzard games do now
