BBC: Major cyber spy network uncovered

BBC News Writes: An electronic spy network, based mainly in China, has infiltrated computers from government offices around the world, Canadian researchers say.

They said the network had infiltrated 1,295 computers in 103 countries.

They included computers belonging to foreign ministries and embassies and those linked with the Dalai Lama - Tibet's spiritual leader.

There is no conclusive evidence China's government was behind it, researchers say. Beijing also denied involvement.

...Our own western goverments are already spying on us normal citizens whenever they feel they have a need to do so, and now the chinese do it to our goverments, and I guess we should now all be outraged because of what those chinese are doing!?

A bit hypocritical, especially since many goverments have been spying eachother for many MANY years in all different sorts of ways.

What about that often-used slogan our goverments use whenever us citizens are worried about OUR privacy: 'If you don't have anything to hide and you're not doing anything wrong, you have nothing to fear...'!?

This kind of spying goes both ways. The western world spies on the rest of the world, and the rest of the world is catching up and will be doing the same whenever they can. I guess that's the game they want to play.

Why is it wrong for people to spy on the government but its okay for the government to spy on its people?

Basically the government could be doing all sorts of bad stuff and we wouldn't have a clue. But the moment we do something wrong, we get thrown in jail.

We are held responsible for our actions, but the government isn't. Hell, our government has gotten away with so many crimes before. -_-

The government spies on us to stop crazy people. They can hear you say you hate the government but they will not go busting into your house and arrest you like they would in China. In this situation they are not spying. They are STEALING important information. If you want to hand over all designs of the US air force jets to China, go f*** yourself for being so stupid.

the government spies all around us everyday and all over the owrld, they are just better than the chinese so we dont get caught

fossilfern3464d ago

lol its like theres gonna be another Cold War like era with countries spying on eachother

get2sammyb3464d ago

... and how infantile that would once again make our respective governments look.

Honestly, I'm convinced kids off a playground could run the country better, if not as good, as the current "leaders" we all have.

I sure hope some of our tax money is going into building a metal gear.

GW has spoken
