This is the best video of Operation Flashpoint 2: Dragon Rising (Alpha Build). The video shows the game with a german narrator. Translation is provided.
Can't wait on this one
Xbox fanboys are saying this game looks better than Killzone 2. LMAO
lookin pretty good.... another purchase on the horizon
Looks kind of generic to me
But in a good way. I'm getting a new computer next week so I'll definitely keep my eyes on this one.
I agreed with both of you. It does look like Ghost Recon (although in my opinion the city areas of Ghost Recon were the best parts (don't shoot me! I admit it: I only played the first Ghost Recon game on the Xbox about 6 years ago) . . . Also, it kinda doesn't look that impressive to me. It's alpha, so it has a lot of room to improve of course, but as it is, the environments and animations are all kinda generic and unimpressive. I do think this game will become a cult hit though, but I don't see it having a massive popularity like Call of Duty. It's shaping up with some potential to shine though.
This looks crazy awesome! Omg
Looks cool but what is it base on like a open world war game i wonder how the beta build is going to look
im sick of seeing external camera perspective, show me gameplay for christ sake. I know its in engine, but i want to see the perspective camera.
Ich liebe den deutschen kleinen Filme. That is if I remember my basic German correctly. Anyway it looks like it could be a hit title this year if its promise of new gameplay and innovation, doesn't fall on def ears.
Best shooter this year so far.
for the 360 yes, for the ps3, no.
i remember killing someone and laying next to their body as people ran passed. the graphics are bad if that is really a word to describe that game at that time i played it. i will definitely rent this game.
Looks great def must buy for my PS3
I've always been an Operation Flashpoint Fan. Maybe now it can become popular to the masses. Arma was a let down but I believe it was because I didn't play it as long as I did flashpoint when it came out. I will say the soundtrack for Arma was sweet and it was a good game. I just didn't play as long as I thought I would.
I will have to disagree with you there. There will always be a niche market for the realism shooter base because the mainstream gamer just doesn't have the patience and tolerance for games like OFP. I can imagine the wannabe-realism fan of CoD4 or KZ2 jumping into this game only to be greeted with game over screens again and again because neither game is not a realism shooter. When this game does drop, I expect to see more grievances than welcomed-hands due to the harsh nature of a realism shooter.
@ Fantasy Star I'm aware of this but it's really the first time these type of games have been marketed heavily to console gamers. I know Operation flashpoint came out on the xbox but there wasn't too much marketing. And just as you said, the niche crowd picked it up. At the very least, people will be exposed to a realistic game and realize how arcadey their current "realistic" games are if they don't like it. At best, the niche market will be expanded and maybe we can finally have competitive leagues other than what we get with the small crowd that usually enjoys it.
Hopefully more people will appreciate OFP2 and we'll start to see a revolution in the shooter market. It's a breath of fresh air and maybe the Console market would start to appreciate these kinds of games that PC Gamers have had for the past 5+ years back with AA. I'm already getting my friends to get the PC Version cause heck! 4 Player co-op FTW. +bubbles for the delight convo.
Can't wait, loved the first one.
Sure, it LOOKS like that generic shooter, but it has some gameplay mechanics that will make it different.
I thinks its angel is the whole "free roaming" aspect. Supposedly you get complete freedom with how you complete your task if at all, its also supposed to have some of the best Ai in the FPS department...but yea ,it looks like someone copied some Battlefield 2 footage and spoke German over it. Hopefully its able to distance itself from its generic cover.
Generic? Yeah like the 70 cutomizable weapons, or the 4 hours to walk from one end of the battlefield to the other. Or that highly deatailed destructible enviorment (Blow up a bridge in mission 1 and it is gone still in mission 8). A complete mission editor with all versions. Yeagh thats in every game like this. I see this all the time. s/c
@hippo24 When somebody don't know sh!t about something they always response with ignorance and you my friend just did that. This game its going to be more welcome from the PC and Xbox360 community than the PS3 community. Almost every PS3 gamer have no clue how good Operation Flashpoint and Arma realism is. If you like easy FPS games where you feel like the hero of the movie turn around go prone and get the fnck out without bashing this game because there is no space for cowards here. THIS IS FOR HARDCORE GAMERS. Give Operation Flashpoint 2 and ARMA 2 a try and then judge them. This its a FPS Real Sim game. This its no FPS B.S. combat. Not BF Bad Company, Not Killzone 2, Not Call of Duty MW, Not Halo & Not any other FPS B.S. Combat. In this game you can really enjoy being a member of a Clan. A clan of any type dedicated to: Helicopters, Tanks, Jet Fighters, Infantry or whatever you like. For example i create a clan specialized on Attack Helicopters (COBRAS) and Transport (Black Hawks) helicopters and i create a Mission with the Map editor and Mission Editor then decide to invite one of my friends who its a member of clan dedicated to Infantry and join forces in the mission i created. ¿How do you like that? ¿Can you do that on any other of those generic FPS Hollywood games? I don't know about you guys but i am getting this game and ARMA 2 and that's it i don't need any other FPS War Game for like 4-5 years. That is why my opinion is that all the other FPS War Games are in deep trouble if they don't go this way because this its next gen we are suppose to have better experience in gameplay and this guys have been doing so since 2001, because graphics always improve but gameplay its up to the developers to give the steps forward and not backward. No other developers have done what this guys have done with OFP and ARMA. Any disagree on this its just ignorance who make you do it.
I for one am excited for this.
Looking forward to this one.
People on here don't even know what generic is referring to when they hear it mentioned Flashpoint is refreshingly different to all the Generic shooters out there and it's looks like i might lose a big chunk of my life to it First one was very good I shall always have time for Halo, though i'd love to see it done on this sort of scale - you listening Bungie
I've been following this game for a while, can't wait to see a non- YouTube trailer or game review.
