Now that the legal issues have been resolved, the rather bland title Project Origin has thankfully got its rightful name back - F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin (F.E.A.R. Fittingly standing for First Encounter Assault Recon). F.E.A.R. Was a chilling First Person Shooter with Horror elements, introducing Alma, the Japanese horror iconic scary young girl with long black hair. The character image has appeared in several Japanese and American horrors in recent years, most famously Ring, and transforming her to a video game worked very well, but does she still have the power to chill?
After the first game ended with a spectacular finale and chilling cliff hanger, Project Origin begins just before part 1 ends, when the city is flattened by a nuclear explosion. This time you take control of Michael Becket, a Delta Force soldier on a mission to capture the president of the evil Armacham Corporation. Naturally Alma returns, in a nude form, and it's not long before haunting visions start to stalk Michael. The story is a cliché, but the suspense is enough to keep you moving on to the revelations.

Inspired by the J-Horror craze going on at the time, Monolith’s F.E.A.R. was a solid action fest of a shooter that entertained as much as it terrified. Bloody Disgusting goes back to see Alma ten years on from the launch of the sequel.
This game honestly killed all my interest in the franchise, I loved 1 and its expansions (even though they're technically non-canon now) but the sequel was such a let down.
WTMG's Kyle Nicol: "Whilst F.E.A.R 2 wasn’t the masterpiece I remembered from ten years ago, with its combat and level design being worse than the original, it is still a fun game that is well worth playing through today. "
