A Famitsu interview with Tetsuya Nomura, creator of the much loved Final Fantasy VII and Kingdom Hearts games and the upcoming Final Fantasy Versus XIII, has confirmed the possibility of a new game...
Fall 2016 in NA and it's delayed in Europe. CastlevaniaX
in XBOX 360 again most likely.
2015? more like 2018 SE takes forever NOW!
am i dreaming?? :O
Final Fantasy VII was one of the premiere titles that catapulted PlayStation into superstardom and prominence in the gaming industry. It's only fitting that this very title will find a home once again on PLAYSTATION®3. Role playing games have taken a nose dive due to Xbox 360 development hampering the way RPG's are developed and played. PLAYSTATION®3 continues to propel forward within an otherwise stagnated genre. With games such as Valkyria Chronicles, Demon's Souls, White Knight Chronicles and Legend of Dragoon 2, Final Fantasy VII will have a snug fit in the vast library of AAA RPG titles available for PLAYSTATION®3. $niper
SE would be dead without him. Whatever he touches turns into gold.
I can't believe why J-developers are so *hush* *hush* about things. It's not like someone would steal thier work if they showed some screenshots of how far they've come. Even with a bunch of interviews you basicly get nothing out of em. Compare that to Western developers and it's like day and night.
Absolute fool I don't want to ever read that you think there is a better JRPG developer than the great Hironobu Sakaguchi again
Alan Wake-up call :) there are lots of devs East/West that are hush hush. some more than others. not good to generalize.
They can not announce too early, because Final Fantasy XIII is in development since 2005 and look how many people are complaining about why it is taking so long. The Euro zone will probably have to wait six years before that games makes it way to their shores.
LO is the proof.
Senshi, I couldn't disagree with you anymore. LO is the game that brings RPG gamers back to the roots of RPG gaming before it got all modernized. LO is in fact my #1 RPG game so far this gen because of how it returns to the days when we still remembered our first Boss in FF7. After FFX, it's gotten stale to me. You may deny Sakaguchi, but can you say that Uematsu's work on LO is any less epic. And in fact, I love the 1000 Years of Memories segment so much I wish Mistwalker would turn it into a book. I'd read that over and over again.
ok (Gun_Senshi) which would you like to see, the games that SE is making right now or the games that SE made in the past. hironobu was in charge of all the games from the 1980s to 2003. http://en.wikipedia.org/wik...
@FantasyStar I couldn't agree any more, Lost Odyssey is one of the few good rpgs out this generation. Although I only just started it recently, I was drawn in by the memories. I kept unlocking one after another only to realize an hour had since I had intended to stop.
Best JRPG is Valkyrie Chronicles this gen. And Disgaea 3 is very good JRPG too. Stop being a fanboy. Whom do you think made the characters of FFVII we all love? NOMURA not your stinky old man.
Here we go again folks. Back and forth and back and forth and back and forth and back and forth and back and forth and back and forth and back and forth and back and forth and back and forth and back and forth and back and forth and back and forth and back and forth and back and forth and back and forth and back and forth and back and forth and back and forth and back and forth and back and forth and back and forth and back and forth and back and forth and back and forth and back and forth and back and forth and back and forth and back and forth and back and forth and back and forth and back and forth and back and forth and back and forth and back and forth and back and forth and back and forth and back and forth and back and forth
Agreed. I absolutely love ff7 and im getting sick of these rumours. SE if you're gonna do it then do it. And if you're gonna do it, then you'd better keep it true to the original, keep the original battle system and make it ps3 exclusive so it can be the best it can possibly be. And give non-japanese speaking countries an option to hear the japanese voiceovers with english subs. Cos the english voice overs suck. Otherwise, please stop teasing, its getting really tiresome. Oh yeah and make chocobo races online. Oh dammit please remake this game square
Final Fantasy 7 for HD consoles just makes too much sense. SE has to at least have been toying around with the idea. Give me a remake of FF7, 8, and then if capcom can give me a Resident Evil 2 remake and another VS game, I'd be extremely happy.
lol...i was just gonna say that
I wouldn't mind a DS FFVII game, in the style of the original or FFIV would be awesome. Wonder what he has planned though, probably not a remake yet. Perhaps a Red XIII centric game, or a game about his father?
There will be more games and there are 2 reasons why. 1) Kitase said so. 2) The hidden ending to Dirge of Cerberus leaves the game open for a sequel which could in theory be Final Fantasy VII-2 While there will be more games SE has far more pressing issues at hand now namely Final Fantasy XIII and Versus XIII
FFVII-DOC had an excellent ending...left it open for another spinoff title. Hopefully it's as amazing as the predecessors.
i hope just one last game to be made, for it to be an rpg, for it to take off after dirge of cerberus's secret ending. i mean genisis never died, zack didn't finish it, so would make sense if cloud finished what zack started, just one more game is all. last year didnt he say something about a game called ff7 endless crisis???? AC advent children BC before crisis CC crisis core DC dirge of cerberus EC endless crisis
It will be interesting to see what he comes up with.
Jeez! It's a tangled web where SE are concerned these days. You get the feeling, or I do, that Nomura wants to say more but either can't as he's not allowed or won't because he doesn't want to ruin things for us. Frustrating as hell getting virtually no answers.
Oh please, not this shi#fest again. My heart can't take it... Wait, they said NOT a remake? Ah... well my hopes won't be crushed again like it was this summer, it seems.
FF7 is owned by Sony. Just imagine a remake or something along that lines.
Sony doesn't actually own the rights to FFVII but they did publish it. But I'm sure Sony would do everything in their power to keep it and if they didn't it'd be a big mistake.
NO. In fact, the only person that brought up VII in the article was the sorry sap who wrote it!!!! Look! Talking to Famitsu in a two page article regarding Final Fantasy VII Advent Children, Tetsuya Nomura was quoted as saying: "...that he believes he's done all he wants to do for Advent Children. However, he does have ideas for the next product in the compilation..." [[This leads us to the assumption that a new game in the Final Fantasy VII series is on the cards, although not a remake of the first game as fans have been wanting since the beginning of this generation.]] He further went on to add, "...that he doesn't expect any developments on the series for the time being." The only thing this proves is that the writer of the article REALLY wants FFVII
if FINAL FANTASY VII remakw* gets announced i just hope it to get announced like a ps3 exclusive, dont flame me for saying this, but we all know that if it gets to be multiplat itll be bad, and if it gets to be exclusive to M$... even worst, plz SONY do all u can to keep it exclusive.
We don't have any idea how the game would be. Let's wait until the multiplatform Final Fantasy 13 to determine if the multi strategy would be a bad idea or not.
final fantasy versus, kindgom hearts, final fantasy VII, mmm am i the only 1 that think that this guy lieks to do SONY games? ... well at least some1 on S-E that knows where to do games RIGHT ;D
Remake or new game in the compilation, it ain't gonna happen anytime soon because Nomura has his hands full with FFv13, KH 358/2 Days, KH Birth By Sleep and Parasite Eve. Not to mention he's lead design (but not directing) FFXIII and FFXIII Agito.
