America's Army and the Advergame Double-Standard

The United States Army has taken a lot of flack for their use of video games as recruitment tools for years. The largest target is, far and away, 'America's Army'.

Unfortunately, people fail to realize that 'America's Army' is simply the natural progression of advertising, and part of a practice that reaches back to the days of Atari and Nintendo: Advergames. An advertising practice that McDonalds, Coca-Cola and the American Medical Association have been taking advantage of for 20+ years.
