SCRAWL's Sal writes "Ivent Games, a new independent developer, is currently developing a PlayStation 3 and PC title, Strength of the Sword, a third-person, fast-paced, beat 'em up action game set in a fantasy realm.
SCEA mentioned this game on day one of the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco yesterday, when they told us that they've updated their cross-platfom PhyreEngine to version 2.40."
The website ugdb.com has an interview about new beat'm up game called Strength of the Sword for PlayStation Network.
"Strength of the Sword is a fast paced beat'em up with cold weapons. One of the main goals of the game is to give the player a feeling that he controls the battle. Another goal is to make the player feel like he is playing an oldschool beat'em up, such as Golden Axe or Knights of the Round created with the current gen tech."
Invent Games published the first screenshots and artwork from Strenght of the Sword. Check them out.
hmmm looks interesting. now they have got my attention. ill be on close watch for this one. btw i like their art style! very cool!
I was going to put this on my watch list........ Then I read the word Cartoony, it left that list. There's one acception to the cartoony games any me, that's Mad World.
I hope now people understand that cool name does not = awsome game lol
When i saw title and 3rd action adventure, i was like wow maybe something ala Uncharted but then we get this lol. Ok,
Low budget. The graphics are very ugly and beyond dated.
Is it wrong to feel nostalgic? Because it looks like a PS2 title. lol.
looks average... but it's nice to see the excellent indie support on the PS3... Sony are really cleaning up at this GDC while MS and Ninty remain as boring as ever (at conferences that is)
