I was going to put this on my watch list........ Then I read the word Cartoony, it left that list. There's one acception to the cartoony games any me, that's Mad World.

heyheyhey5509d ago

i digress... i love games like R&C and Sly Cooper, so a cartoony visual style is more than ok with me

but the actual models themselves look rubbish on the screenshot... let's hope it's a budget PSN game with deep gameplay

Beta Trailer changed my mind, doesnt look like a PS2 Game, but the screens are horrible.

It looks like sh*t, the graphics, the gameplay and none variation of enemy character design.

I would say color it black and white like madworld then it might be more attractive.

And by that I mean if it looked *exactly* like finished concept art, sprites, than what it is.

Xandet5509d ago

Exactly what I was thinking. I can't tell you how fun the game is just by those screenshots, but I CAN tell you the game looks.. pretty bad, even for a "cartoony" game. I probably wouldn't pick this up for more than $15.

You young whipper snappers, all you care about is your new fangled graphics!

I hope now people understand that cool name does not = awsome game lol

When i saw title and 3rd action adventure, i was like wow maybe something ala Uncharted but then we get this lol. Ok,

Abash5509d ago

Low budget. The graphics are very ugly and beyond dated.

MisterNiwa5509d ago

Is it wrong to feel nostalgic? Because it looks like a PS2 title. lol.

heyheyhey5509d ago (Edited 5509d ago )

looks average... but it's nice to see the excellent indie support on the PS3... Sony are really cleaning up at this GDC while MS and Ninty remain as boring as ever (at conferences that is)

UGDB.com - Strength of the Sword Interview

The website ugdb.com has an interview about new beat'm up game called Strength of the Sword for PlayStation Network.

"Strength of the Sword is a fast paced beat'em up with cold weapons. One of the main goals of the game is to give the player a feeling that he controls the battle. Another goal is to make the player feel like he is playing an oldschool beat'em up, such as Golden Axe or Knights of the Round created with the current gen tech."

Thats a really nice graphical style!

Looks like animation or a watercolor painting (that's a compliment).

Pleasantly surprised and now excited for this title.

I love a good hack and slash.

Gambit075508d ago

Will this be for the PSN or PS3?

Avenged Sevenfold5508d ago (Edited 5508d ago )

Judging by the graphics, I see this appearing more likely on PSN. You meant to ask if it's a retail disc or downloadable game.
