Gamesindustry.biz provide their own analysis of whether Microsoft is just using DirectX 10 as a handy way of forcing PC gamers to upgrade to Windows Vista.
Although I think Vista is cool, namely the new Aero Glass interface and Search integration, I think it's fairly obvious that Microsoft could have put DirectX 10 on Windows XP.
It's just a ploy to get us to upgrade, because let's face it, it's not exactly a major must have upgrade like Windows 3.1 to Windows 95 was and so they're using this to entice us.
I also heard that Vista have a little less game performance that XP, there is a framerate drop when playing games in Vista, I personally haven't seen this but if it's true, I'm going to stay away until I have a more powerfull rig.
well i personally think that the non DX10 for the XP market is just going to trigger more and i must say QUICKER piracy!
i for one am going to stay with my legal Windows XP Home SP2 and see how this end up. and IF i want to go to Vists... well like i said it mite start alot of piracy.
