Sony Corp., the world's largest maker of video-game players, is maintaining its forecast of selling 6 million PlayStation 3 units for the fiscal year that ends in March, a spokesman said.
I thought the 360 did 10million in a year - didn't they announce that in december/january. It says at the end of the fiscal year, not the ps3 has been out a year. It would be 6million in 6months...so you're way off
Xbox rules ... Sony is crap! I'm a fanboy, look at me!!
Just kiddin. Taken up Madden Raiders for the first negative comment.
Sony has to deliver, no other choice. February was a bad month for PS3 hardware. I'm assuming March will be better with the onslaught of positive news. Anyway, congrats to Sony if they can pull it off.
According to the latest sales numbers, they have shipped 1M in North America and 750k in Japan. If they sold less than 2M consoles to date, why are they trying to ship 6M total within two weeks time?
A good launch in Europe will see 1M to 1.5M sold in a best case scenario. Meanwhile, 2.5M to 3M consoles will sit in a warehouse loosing sony money. I'd rather see sony hold back production and save some money than produce excessive stock for the sole purpose of being able to say they have 'shipped' 6M. Sony has got to be hurting right now for money, why are they being so wasteful? Especially when actual sales data is so easily obtained...
Easy peasy. 4million already - so 2million over the rest of the world.
.
and did you say 4 million already? i didn't know that.
That was announced a week or so ago...of course that's in only shipped. I believe from reports tht half of that has sold to customers
When did Microsoft ship 10million 360's?
SONY is getting up
