German police chairmen calls for "killergames" ban

Heini Schmitt (pictured),regional chairman of the DPolG in the German state of Hesse, has called for a ban on violent games in Germany, linking them to the recent Albertville school shooting, where a 17-year old former student went on a rampage killing 16 people, including himself.

He claims 1/3 of the country's youth "regularly and addictively escape into a virtual world." and referred to games with violence as "killergames." (Counterstrike, Far Cry 2, Industry, PC, PS3, Wii, Xbox 360)
