Nintendo will no doubt be happy with the results of videogame sales for February 2009 in the US. The NPD Group's data showed that the Wii was the best-selling console with 753 000 units sold while the ever-popular Wii Fit was the top game with 644 000 copies sold.
Since then the publisher has announced that the latest NPD data shows that Wii Play has now sold more than 10 million units in the United States since the game launched in February 2007. According to the press release, Wii Play is now the "top-selling software on all consoles and portable systems in the United States."
Wii Play sold 386 000 copies to secure fourth place in February. However, its inclusion with the NPD data continues to be controversial. Most people believe it should not be included because it comes bundled with a free Wii Remote.
