Bethesda Not Currently Planning to Release Fallout 3 DLC on Steam

Earlier this week, Valve announced that it has added DLC support to its popular digital distribution platform, Steam. This will allow developers and publishers to release add-ons to any game that's available for download through the Steam store.

We asked several leading developers of PC games available on Steam if they plan to embrace the new functionality. Bethesda, responsible for last year's critically-acclaimed Fallout 3, was the only one to respond by deadline.

Pete Hines, VP of PR and Marketing at the Maryland-based studio, had this to say:

"Our current plan is to continue to use Xbox Live and Games for Windows Live to distribute our DLC for Fallout 3." (Fallout 3, Fallout 3: Broken Steel, Fallout 3: Operation Anchorage, Fallout 3: The Pitt, PC)
