"Sony UK boss Ray Maguire says the games industry is carrying around a negative image that it must work to get rid of. Interestingly, Maguire says the industry itself left a "dangerous legacy" by helping give birth to negative stereotypes that persist to this day.
"Games marketing in the 1980s and '90s was anarchic and controversial, with giant poster ads featuring baths full of blood for Resident Evil and all sorts of other shock tactics. That's what the population saw. And that's what they remember," he writes on MCV."
