A Resident Evil fansite has written an article on the backlash from fans and casual users alike against Capcom producing another light-gun spin-off rather than a "fully-fledged" game.
Numbered entries aside, there have been a whole host of other Resident Evil games, across multiple platforms. Here are some you might have missed.
"As a longtime fan of the franchise there are several improvements I would like to see, and after the success of Resident Evil 7 and Monster Hunter: World, Capcom seems to be making all the right decisions with their tentpole franchises. Hopefully, this will be no different." -- PlayStation Enthusiast
The top five of the best PlayStation Move compatible light gun games that have been released for the PlayStation 3.
House of the Dead 3 and 4 should be on the list. I still play Overkill on a regular basis, worth buying a move just for that game alone. The Cabela games that support move are fun too.
Is Rambo, Move compatible? And there is also Child Of Light which is sort of a shooting game.
i wish they also made light guns like the arcade ones. they r faster at aiming and more accurate..
Whilst i agree...it's not going to happen, and i'll still look forward to this, UC had a few kinks that should be worked out for this game.
Capcom won't be able to ignore the fan pressure for too long though and have to produce a brand new "actual" Resident Evil game.
I'm glad Capcom is getting this backlash. It's what they deserve. Umbrella Chronicles was a bad rail shooter at best. They keep shafting the Wii fanbase. Not only that, but they're shafting gamers the world-over! Paying $5 for an online versus mode in RE5 that will be released only weeks after the official game? And it'll likely be a keycode that allows you access to data for the versus mode already on the disc. Capcom has recently turned from one of my favorite game developers to one of my most despised.
Fu*& them. They want to treat Wii owners like morons, then they deserve the backlash they receive.
From the footage released it seems that the engine is well made.
now only if they could push it to bring a new Re:4 kind of game BUT SCARY THIS TIME.
People have been(RE5 controls apart)daftly praqising Capcom of late SF4, SF2THDR(the only decent game of the lot released so far) and MH3.
But think. If they're making us pay for online modes prolly alreeady on the disc for RE5 what will they do for the online of MH3 with theirhabit of shafting Wii owners?Pay for play cert but how much? After the full insult of Chop til you Drop from an aready low in the hearts and minds of the once faithful on Wii this latest bombshell"(is anyone shocked?)is an insult too far.
I already traded my copy of SF4 in(f'ing focus moves?)and with the borked forced co-op of the SP in RE5 thats gone from my most eagerly expected game in years to possible rent for a run through the co-op online. It isn't just the Wii where they get things wrong, imo.
Sthe pics for LP2 do look good whatever it comes out on but the art for the first one did to and played like crap. DMC4 was a con as well.
Come on Capwhat the effs going on?
