D3Publisher has confirmed that it is working on a new Naruto fighter for Wii.
Naruto: Clash of Ninja MVZ (working title) for Wii is being created "with content created exclusively for the North American market" according to the publisher. It's due to release in the fall.
"For some time we have wanted to give Naruto fans in North America something they could not find anywhere else, and in Clash of Ninja MVZ we have a game with original, exclusive content that will amaze them," said Mark Shinohara, executive vice president, Tomy [owner of the IP].
The game was outed in the recent issue of Nintendo Power, which detailed that 14 playable characters would be available. D3 has done well with Nintendo iterations of the cartoon license. Last year's Clash of Ninja for GameCube (pictured) sold around 360,000 units and was one of the platform's big successes. It reviewed around 70%.
