PlayStation Takes Online Beating

Over the past year unique visitors to Nintendo.com increased 91 percent, but visitors to Playstation.com was down by 8 percent.
Those were some of today's findings in a report by NetRatings. Nintendo's online traffic rose from 856,000 in February 2006 to 1.6 million in February 2007.

Xbox.com also saw significant year-over-year growth in February, increasing 47 percent from a unique audience of 827,000 to 1.2 million.

Traffic to Playstation.com dropped 8 percent in the same period, from 1.1 million to 1.0 million unique visitors.

NetRatings also found…

36.5 percent of U.S. adults online own a game console.

15.9 percent own a portable game console

71 percent of console owners are married.

66 percent have at least one child in the household.

Its called a PC crammed in an nice looking box with an enlarged On/Off Switch.

Microsoft needs to get new ideas.

Until then PS3 and Wii is all I need!

it's pretty sad that the majority of 360 games don't have 4s, 5s, and 6s at the end of their name. they should be like nintendo and put masterchief in every game regardless of the genre. dance, dance revolution: masterchief mix. masterchief football 2008. or, like sony, they can ride the wave of success of 4 or 5 games with continuous sequels, and sprinkle in thousands of random, turn based, porn cartoon RPGs. that way, when you go to your local game store the 360 section would be the biggest, yet only have about 10 games you actually want to play.
