Assassin's Creed Gets Novelization Treatment

This October, Pocket Books will be publishing the first of three novels based on the upcoming Assassin's Creed game. The books, written by Steven Barnes, delve into the back-story of Altair, who is on a mission to save the Holy Land from corruption in the year 1191.

Does this mean the game should be released sometime before October? Its hard to sell a book based on something no one has played, and inversly Ubisoft won't want storyline revealed before the game releases.

i love it when games have book equivalents. they offer a side story, a more in-depth look than what the game can offer. they answer questions, create their own, and immerse you into the world more than the game can... why, because of the human imagination.

why do you think the halo series books had/have a huge success??
