Women Could Make Up 40% of Devs

Around one in ten development people are female, and a wander around the halls of GDC is conformation that this is still an overwhelmingly male business. But things are changing.

At the Women in Games GDC session yesterday Sheri Graner Ray, executive chair of Women in Games International, spoke about the growing female influence on games development, publishing and purchasing.

She predicted that within 25 years, up to 40% of game development staff will be female, and that games targeted at the female audience will be entirely accepted part of the business.
