Considered by many to be unplayable at times, last year's iteration (Major League Baseball 2K8) was a clear indicator the series needed a severe overhaul in order to stay relevant. Thankfully, that relevance has now at least been partially realized thanks to Visual Concept's ability to get back to basics.
