Destructoid: How Killzone 2 is blatantly better than Halo 3

Killzone 2 launched exclusively for the PlayStation 3 this Friday, generating much bias from biased people who are biased. It also sold quite a few copies and has been setting the PlayStation Network afire with grenade spam and shotgun rampages. It is a great game. It is also blatantly better than Halo3..

The argument is based on your cup of tea, personaly I liked Halo3's single player campaigne, but disliked the multiplayer offering. KZ2 on the other hand has a very good multiplayer offering in my opinion. Everything is based on opinion, thats what makes us different and or unique. KZ's graphics just blow everything else out of the water but that's another story!

KZ2 is a great game no doubt, but I don't think KZ2 will sell more copies than Halo 3. Halo 3 single player was cr*p in my opinion though. The only thing I ever remember from that game is the one large battle with the spider leg looking thing. I hated the last level and I don't care for fighting the flood (those little things coming towards you) and I have no idea what happened in the game and I beat all 3 Halo games....

This whole thing was a joke. I really don't think hes one or the other. The control part you mentioned was sarcasm. I don't think anyone is going to refute that PC controls work better for shooters. People may still prefer a controller, but even those people will generally admit you get more accuracy from a Keyboard and mouse.

On a different note, the fact that every game is touted as a "Halo killer" and compared to Halo only shows Halo's unparalleled success. Halo is the benchmark for exclusives in terms of sales and affecting pop culture. Does Killzone beat Halo graphically? Yes, is slaughters it, but then again, so do many games. Halo isn't successful because people think it's a graphical powerhouse, it's successful because of its fun factor, smooth gameplay and addictive multiplayer.

There has been an overwhelming change in the numbers of fanboys on this site. Many people must share the opinion that Sony does MOST THINGS right, whilst Microsoft couldn't care less. Hence the lack of Ninty fanboys these days -Nintendo gave up on 'real' gamers.

I never liked Halo but agree to the all the reasons listed as to it's success. But you miss two of the biggest reasons for Halo's success: mass-marketing and hype.

Killzone 2 doesn't deserve to be compared to Halo. Because Killzone 2 is a much better game, despite having a few minor issues. Funny as hell article like. Love it.

Hey dumb@ss, how am I a retard? I know I am an "Xbot" so I automatically don't fall in your good graces, but hey, I try to recognize good things when I see it. I have said on this board more than once that Sony is a great company who works hard to put out the best product it can. I've also said that MS are a bunch of money grubbers, despite the fact that I like the 360 over the PS3. Yes, I am impartial to the 360, but I try to be objective when I can.

As far as Halo being successful because of mass marketing and hype, those two things can only take a product so far. When Halo 1 came out no one expected it to become the phenomenon that it was. It was the original Halo's success that caused the sequels to have the mass marketing and hype that they did. As recently as a few months ago, Halo 3 reclaimed its spot as the most played game on Xbox Live, well after its sales/popularity peak. Mass marketing and hype weren't responsible for that.

There may be a clan system / friends list to click and join but no party system in KZ2 :( It's hard when you have a group of friends who want to join the same game being on the same team. I guess that's what the clan matches are set for. I'll give it a shot soon.

I love Killzone 2 AND Halo 3. =) They're both awesome cinematic shooters with different gameplay styles (Killzone 2 more tactical, Halo 3 more mini-sandbox style).

He kind of brought up decent points like the PS3 controller; which has been prov-en because of less lag with the analog sticks compared to the 360 controller, but then said something stupid about the PC controls which is hands down the best for FPS.

It is a better game but it's a different era. This era has seen COD4 which is a more realistic approach to the FPS genre in some aspects and this game does use some of those features such as health. Halo although not the best, is a culmination of all the great aspects of the old great shooters like Quake, Doom, Unreal, Goldeneye, Painkiller, etc. Halo is more arcadey, fast paced, and less tactical. These newer titles are setup to apply things from tactical third person shooters into the FPS world.
