Fanboy Wars: Do they put too much pressure on people to buy games?

Gary A Swaby Of writes: This generation has been the cause of heated fanboy wars, specifically between Sony's Playstation 3 and Microsoft's Xbox 360 products. It has come to the point where huge exclusive titles such as Gears of War, or Killzone 2 mean much more than just providing enjoyment for gamers. Now a days you feel like you HAVE to buy a game such Killzone 2, just to ensure your respective consoles bragging rights. So does this fanboy war put too much pressure on gamers to buy games that perhaps we usually wouldn't have?

I think its a good question to ask.

There will always be people that do such things but this war may have put the war to an Atom war and may have caused more people do do that.

Personally Im only buying the games I want. Though I like to point out and defend the good games that are only available for the PS3 because I wanna share my thoughs with others on which good games that actually exist. If you buy a great TV you will likely also tell others why you bought it and "defend" it =)

I might be picking up Killzone 2 in the coming month but no need to rush for defending anything, just wanna play the game because I think it is a good game.

So the question: am I buying games I usually wouldnt have bought? = No

But the times has changed, the next-gen consoles has taken a big slice of the cake that were usually Computer owned.

ROTFLOL... How bloody old is this dude writing the article, like 12 years old or something?

That is the most stupid thing I have ever heard, a fanboy buying a game he doesn't want just to show support.... HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! What a L.O.S.E.R!!!

This goes to show the absolute idiotic behavior of "Fanboys". HAHAHAHAHA!!!

And if any of you agree with the writer... Here is a big "L.O.S.E.R" for you too!!!

Agent, I think you would be surprised. A lot of people just get a game because it is exclusive.

damage controll i guess they saw that hiphopgamer artcile about killzone 2

What? They would be saying the opposite if they were "damage control" for that article. If hype alone dictated sales then Halo would have sold 50mil and KZ2 would have sold a lot more than it has. Still, we don't even know what KZ;s first day sales were. Now I ask myself why I am explaining this to somebody who either wont care or can't.

Yeah. Because I would blow $60.00 over internet rep...

A lot of people have. My self included. Am I am not simple minded, I almost got into the highest ranked High School in the U.S. However, propaganda has an effect on people, we are more simple than we realize.

Rich people will have no problem with this, but I am starting to spend too much on video games.
If I was say, BIG BOSS, and had 10000000000000 dollars, then this would not be a problem. For your average person, this is bad.

They turn me off from buying a game honestly.

My wallet thanks you.

Fanboys are people who can't afford all systems.
