ZTGD Noby Noby Boy Review

Catastrophe of ZTGD writes: Noby Noby Boy's experiential game-play forgoes missions and objectives in favor of controlling a rope dressed up as a worm. Sure it is aimless, frankly quite off-the-wall-zany, and definitely a little repetitive but it also manages to be kind of fun. The title is just weird for the sake of weird, and if that sounds like something that works for you, have at it. After all, a lack of rhyme and reason isn't going to prevent you from wanting to gobble up all the koala bears in the land.

+ The GIRL concept is cool
+ Variety of levels
+ Quirky. Zany. Fun?

- Overly complex controls
- Repetitive

"The first game to prove that drugs are bad." ha so true and I agree with the wonky controls. It all works sure but geez 0.o

I know, right? An exercise in literacy just figuring out the camera!

I think 6 - 7/10 is a fair score for Noby Noby Boy. It's main problems are poorly implemented controls and a terrible camera. I don't think it's overly repetitive (for a $5 game?), but those two aforementioned issues are fairly significant.

That said, it's nice to see PSN titles that aren't just re-releases of old PS1, Genesis and SNES games. I look forward to the dlc next month.

nobody mentions really really poor graphics

I think there's a point where you have to judge a game on its own terms. In this instance, Noby Noby Boy is not trying to reach great heights of graphical achievement: the focus is clearly on the rope. However, it is still fairplay in my mind to critique how successful or unsuccessful this intentional move (sacrifice, even?) is.
