Latest screens of Resident Evil 5 from famitsu show Chris using a cover system. screens after the jump [update] seems to be more for a context sensitive cover system. thanks nbnt
looks like a cover system similar to gears of war, press run to go into cover and hold the aim button to pop out and take shots
Agreed and also, there´s something like... somekind of QTE (quick time evente) u get to a wall where youre supposed to cover! Right? I didnt see any of this in the demo and we had some walls to test it.
I don't think its a cover system after translating from Google: "The specific location of the stage can be stuck to the wall. When he suffered a vicious attack of the enemy can not break it, UKAGAOU a chance to fight back or be turned to avoid using this technique. Action button appears at the approach to a particular point. If you follow the instructions, the action can be used as walls." :\
Yeah, a cover system in RE seems a bit wierd, it'd make sense if the "zombies" were shooting at but from everything I've seen (which admittedly is only the demo) the enemies only swing weapons at you or try to chew you a bit.
Resident Evil 5 Cover System ONLY ON XBOX 360 ;)
Just like the RRoD LOL :)
It eats the droids how Capcom is giving the love to the 360 Quick words of advice............. buy DAMN GAMES!!!
People made there assumptions off of the Demo which was actually a crappy E3 Build. To above...those regular Maijini that just swing weapons are not the only enemies. You'll encounter enemies that I'm not at liberty to speak about but you'll be definitely satisfied come March 13th.
HAHA, best name ever! +bubbles And yeah, I hope I won't be dissapointed since I've already paid for the crap.
Whats the point of cover when no-one's shooting at you...?
1. Examining the area. a. To see how many enemies are in the area without being seen. b. To see where to go next without being seen. c. To spot gas canisters or any other damage dealing objects in the environment. d. Waiting for a moment to slip right past. The mission in RE5 starts off as a simple reconnaissance but obviously grows into something much deeper. So all out Assault and guns blazing wasn't the initial plan which is why they don't go heavily armed. The game has some stealth aspects but not through the entirety.
If they fix the problems from the demo and add things like this its an instant buy!
GET A DAMN LIFE!
Errr.. Even in the DEMO there were a few enemies with crossbows. There were tonnes of those guys in RE4 too, so i dont know why this would be different.
Is this the Gears like game play that was rumored
doesn't need a cover system...
Looks like a scripted event given the environment and moment in-game. I don't believe this game as real-time cover in the game.
Do a lot of the zombies shoot back? Has the game thrown away its identity and become a war game now?
There is a cover system in the last half of the game, according to OPSM UKs review. They gave the game 8/10. Also they blamed the weak implementation of the cover system, for making the last part of the game less exciting. Apparently the enemies are better at using guns and that is the reason for the cover system. The review also says it is badly implemented, since you only can use it certain places...
