Dead Space 2 in the works

EA studio Redwood Shores has confirmed that a new Dead Space will be coming to the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC at some point in the future.

Glen Schofield, general manager of EA's Redwood Shores studio in San Francisco, let it slip that the studio is not only working on Dead Space Extraction for the Wii, but that a PS3/360/PC sequel is also in the works.

Loved Dead Space! Especially the surround sound, it was second to none. Really brought back that horror genre that I have been missing, especially since the last couple of RE games haven't been scary, even though they were good in there own way.

Commenting on the release date strategies: this guy sounds like he has a good grasp of what is going on. I agree that game releases should happen throughout the year. Not just because the "powers-that-be" say it needs to be out at this certain time to try and max out sales. if the game is good IT WILL SELL. QUALITY has to be the constant focus, and the teams making these games need to keep that in mind, video games are a significant form of entertainment, no longer just a side hobby.

Probably my favorite multi-plat this gen. Quality between platforms was equal across the board, and the overall polish/ gameplay were perfect.

Looking forward to the sequel! (And the inevitably conclusion to the trilogy - because we all know that games come in 3s nowadays :) )

I have to agree with you there, the gameplay was flawless.

Dead Space was my DooM of 2008. And maybe now my DooM of 2009. That is of course if DooM 4 does not do so well. Ah hell who am I kidding I'll get both regardless.

I'm a wuss when it comes to horror movies etc. I'm kinda scared to pop this in (I currently have it from Gamefly). As killzone won't be delivered to me from Gamefly at least until next week, I guess I might as well jump in.

just beat it on extreme yesterday and returned it to blockbuster. Ill probably buy #2. This game had the most horrible deaths for a video game protagonist ever. It actually made me not want to die.

If there was a harder difficulty I would have played it again for sure.

i agree with the earlier comments.....dead space was an amazing game that lasted a lot longer than most through my first playthrough.
and with a decent cinema amp and speakers the sound effects were the best i have heard in a game....if you havent already....buy it ps3 and 360 owners... enjoy.
