NowGamer: Rise Of The Argonauts Review

Rise Of The Argonauts sometimes feels like it was developed on a Colossus though, as it takes ages to get anywhere and the RPG part of the game only goes as far as yomping from one end of Icolus to the other to chit-chat with NPCs. Cut scenes look roughly cobbled together and poor character models are only saved by competent VO. Fortunately, the action bits literally pull no punches and are a gory montage of bullet-time execution moves and slick animation, for which the Unreal Engine 3 and PhysX technology can take a lot of the credit. Maybe the novelty of button-bashing butchery would tire quicker if it wasn't juxtaposed with painfully protracted exposition, but it's almost worth slaying a weekend with this one.
