GameStop Boasts Momentum

Videogame retailer GameStop Corp. projected stronger-than-expected quarterly earnings and said it expects its momentum to continue as consumers buy videogames despite the slowdown.

The Grapevine, Texas, company, which allows customers to trade in or buy used games, is one of the rare retail winners amid the economic downturn.

"We think '09 should be a very good year in spite of the recession," said GameStop Chief Executive Dan DeMatteo.
