TeamXbox: Grand Theft Auto IV: The Lost & Damned Review

TeamXbox writes: "Forget everything you think you know about downloadable content. Grand Theft Auto IV: The Lost & Damned changes all the rules for what we expect from additive content for games. Far more than a bunch of new weapons or vehicles or a smattering of new missions, The Lost & Damned is almost an entirely new game, offering more content and a richer experience than some completely original titles even dare to".

Really good score. And $20 for a 12 hour game, damn I wish more games were that price considering they're even shorter.

Eiffel5541d ago

Mirrors Edge as a fine example..only took not even 2 hours.

So worth the $60...

Great score. I actually liked GTA4, but I'm still iffy on whether I want to purchase this or not.

jcgamer5541d ago

IGN said the story was underdeveloped, the graphics are drab, and Johnny isn't that likable of a character..but the new gameplay elements were good...so a 9.7? NO

Sitdown5541d ago (Edited 5541d ago )

IGN's opinion is standard...and nobody else is allowed to vary from their "truth"? Which is interesting...because isn't teamxbox tied to ign or something like that?

DelbertGrady5541d ago

This review is just as credible as 80% of the Killzone 2 reviews with perfect scores posted on here, from sources like PS3Hype, PS3-Sense, PS3Insider, TheSixthAxis, OPM UK, OPM Italy, OPM France, OPM Transylvania etc.

Just saying. I'll wait for the big name reviews, but I'll probably get it no matter what they think about it.

Eiffel5541d ago

Yes because we all know IGN is a gift from Jesus Christ himself and their opinion is not doubt correct and without question.

IGN don't know their ass from a hole in the ground buddy.

ON TOPIC: good score. too bad i got rid of gta4 a long time ago. they really needed to get this out a little sooner.

SuperM5541d ago

Well concidering how overrated GTA4 was, this would have to be conciderably better then the normal GTA4 if it would deserve this score. I have a feeling it doesnt

I woupdn't update the game. It doesnt have game breaking issues and I would lose one of the radio stations.

jeromeface1519d ago

steam has removed this option

monkey6021520d ago

"Thankfully, players will seemingly easily be able to update their game to the new version easily by simply installing "

What the fuck kind of sentence structure is that?!

GTA4 was the worst game in the entire series and the only one I've ever truly hated

SegaSaturn6691520d ago

I really liked the tv stations on gta 4. Other than that, I agree. Horrible racing missions.

CrimsonWing691520d ago

I guess they can’t afford editors.

They'll never get rid of how slow and sluggish these games feel. Your character and vehicles feel too heavy. Even on the most powerful rigs. I love how GTAV fixed it though.

Profchaos1520d ago (Edited 1520d ago )

Your character was a mid 30/40 year old personally I felt like he controlled the way most people in that age range move.
And it had better driving physics than v did cars have weight and it felt correct compared to v everything drives like a sports car and turns corners on a dime

DerfDerf1520d ago

The driving physics in GTA4 were far superior to 5. Everyone complains because of the physics engine used but it's one of the things I love about 4

The 5 Most Shocking Grand Theft Auto Moments

USgamer:"By the time the average American teenager has reached the ninth grade, chances are they've been exposed to one or two (or 20) graphically violent films. When I was growing up, most parents seemed to accept (if not condone) the viewing of these kinds of movies and television shows. It was inevitable that their children would eventually discover them. I vividly remember a friend's father renting a Freddy Kruger film for us when we were 12 years old. The year was 2002 – just a few months after the release of Grand Theft Auto III."
