Rare Hints About Virtual Console Possibilities?

Rare sugar-coats a question about VC possibilities.

"This is where we finally edge into territory that could see Scribes neutron bombed from management level. The only Rare-developed title on Virtual Console right now is the original Donkey Kong Country, and unofficially there's a strong likelihood that its sequels will follow. But the Donkey Kong series of games is a Nintendo-owned franchise starring an established Nintendo character, whereas something like Banjo isn't (and even Diddy Kong Racing is less clear-cut), so it's nowhere near as easy to call. Especially when you also consider the existence of Xbox Live Arcade. So right now, the best answer we can offer (for either download service) is "it's possible"."

Nintendo made a mistake by selling Rare.

I'm sorry but all the games that Rare made for 360 have not done well at all. In fact MS thinks so to seeing that they let Rare make a DS game. Rare makes great games if they are allowed to get delays, which MS has never let Rare do as of yet. Plus I don't think MS likes the arcade portion of it's Live service seeing that they don't really do anything good with it. So MS will probably just get Rare to put the games on VC just so they can get that money too.

What's your definition of well? Are you talking about in term of sells? viva pinata is not a bad game and it sold more copies than PS3 top title. It is a great game.

Here are some games Rare worked on:
Grunty's Revenge
Banjo-Kazooie 3
Battletoads & Double Dragon
Battletoads in Battlemaniacs
Super Battletoads
Conker's Pocket Tales
Conker's Bad Fur Day
Conker: Live & Reloaded
Donkey Kong Country/Land
Donkey Kong Country 2/Land 2
Donkey Kong Country 3/Land III
Diddy Kong Racing
Donkey Kong 64
Diddy Kong Racing DS
Perfect Dark
Perfect Dark (GBC)
Perfect Dark Zero
Blast Corps
GoldenEye 007
Jet Force Gemini
Star Fox Adventures
Grabbed by the Ghoulies
Kameo: Elements of Power
Viva Piñata
Sabre Wulf
It's Mr. Pants
Killer Instinct

Some of those game helped Nintendo make lots of money, would you argue against that. I understand your anti-microsoft since it a direct competitor of your lovely console but Rare it's not a bad company. I bet if Sony would own them you would be kissing @$$ left and right. Sony fanboys so predictable.

uhm bladestar,
"since it a direct competitor of your lovely console"
that didn't made allot of sense since he likes all 3 consoles.

"In fact MS thinks so to seeing that they let Rare make a DS game"
MS doesn't have a competitor when it comes to handheld gaming thats why they allowed rare making a ds game( diddy kong racing)

I do like all three and good point sidar MS doesn't have any worries about a handheld game being released. Bladestar I wasn't pointing out faults of Rare for they do have an awesome aresanol of games they made. As a matter of fact I accually own all those games you listen except for "Jet Force Gemini" (what's it about by the way)

As far as my definition I'm talking about were they able to make it the way they wanted. Perfect Dark Zero was a launch title that wasn't the best playing game, Kameo was nice but didn't get alot of attention, Grabbed by the Ghouls for original xbox was not looked at by anyone but I did play most of it and it was pretty nice. Viva Pinata Rare already said they wanted more time on it but didn't get it. Rares biggest mistake was getting sold off. They make games that Nintendo folk want and MS just doesn't market to well for what Rare does.

But to point out again I do enjoy all the system and give them pretty much the same playing time. Don't belive the reviews for Bullet Witch it's a pretty desent Atari game that goes well with the 360 collection, buy it used if you can ^^
