In order for something to "upstage" something else, it usually has to be a complete surprise to both the targeted entity and the public at large--i.e. MS announcing FF XIII for the 360 would be considered an "upstage."

All Gears of War games are the same. I enjoyed the first one (which I played for about half an hour), but the second one, which I played for about 2 or 3 hours, really didn't do anything for me. Games with big muscly men with great graphics and little substance being touted as quality. Such is the era of video games we live in.

Resistance can't even hang with Halo 3. you know how much Halo did for first person shooters? heck, COD4 ripped it's 2 weapon system and it's health regeneration system straight from Halo. Without Halo you'd have a health bar and one main weapon like Counterstrike or Quake. Halo has influenced all console shooters even KZ 2. When KZ or Resistance can have the lasting impact of a game like Halo (which I doubt because no one is saying these games are revolutionary) then you get back to me.

Gee, that's funny, I thought that games were supposed to be fun, that's why I play them. I couldn't care less about whether or not Halo 3 is a million billion times more revolutionary than Resistance, the fact of the matter is that both games have similar pacing, play mechanics, and competitive multiplayer features, and that if you're going to look for an FPS experience like Halo on the PS3, then you shouldn't look any further than Resistance.

They aren't identical in all regards, but if you only own one system and you're looking for a fun, easy to pick up and enjoy arcade style FPS game with a lot more depth than it would seem at first glance, then Resistance on PS3 and Halo on 360 will give you what you're looking for.

I don't care which game did it first, I care which game does it best.

Gears of War stole the cover system right out from under Kill.Switch. But you don't see me having any desire to go pick up Kill.Switch; Gears if the place to go for that third-person shooter cover-based gameplay. It wasn't original, but it did it better.

What exactly DID Halo bring to first person shooters?

Health bar is a good system. Regenerating shield worked for a game like Halo, but now it's in EVERY GAME. It's a freaking plague! It doesn't make sense in games like CoD4, and it makes the game too damn easy.

Dual wielding was done before Halo. Notably, Goldeneye. Also, there's limited dual-wielding in Counter-Strike (dualies) because it wouldn't make much sense to dual-wield 2 shotguns or 2 rifles, or something. And yet it's STILL not really done in many FPSes. Hell, even vehicles were done in Starsiege Tribes, although it can be argued that Halo popularized them (I am of firm belief that the vehicles are the best part of Halo). The only thing Halo really did was revolutionize how to play games online on a console.

1. Didn't Jeronimo Barerra, in a PS mag, say they wanted GTA4 to "last for years", and now we're hearing those PS3 DLC rumors? What did I say back in 2008 about all of this? MS screwed around and lied to us about a lot of these details, they tried to be Rockstar's mouthpiece about the DLC and made Rockstar have to come out and say stuff to conteract what MS was claiming about the DLC and the multiplayer, and no one wanted to listen to Barerra and say that it was the mag that assumed things. NOW look what we're hearing (that news was on last weeks Warzone, too, if you remember). So those that didn't know or said that nothing would happen about that, you might want to read up again, because it's starting to look like you were wrong about this one.
2. I'm wondering what HHG thinks about that Blockbuster Video on PS3 thing. There were quite a few people that were suggesting that. Wondering if others think that would be a good idea for Sony to do.
3. Valve has yet to return anything from me, and CVG is not talking ( http://www.n4g.com/News-273... for the CVG stuff I've been getting). The real problem is your site and the writers like Hydro who pass off opinions as facts. I mean, at what point do you and others simply take responsibility for your actions. People call you out on what you and your writers say on your blog. The issues with grammer somthing that shouldn't be an issue. SPELL CHECK is what you should be telling your folks. Then you have Hydro making excuses about a guy that is new to the site posting on YOUR SITE. Since your other writers represent you then you need to talk to them and come to an understanding. Quit with the fanboy complaints too becuase your titles and articles that you and your writers contribute are just fuel. It would make sense if most of the articles were actually based on fact but articles like "Firmware updates bricking 360s" and then nothing to back that up or Killzone 2 going to outsell Halo 3. I mean give me a break. How hard is it for a game to just stand on its own? What was real ignorant was Hydro and his minority comment in his BS article about the blog about your site. He prefer's the PS3 and he doesn't hide the fact but you can see his excitement for a game no matter what the console. Yeah, he doesn't always get the predictions right but when you're talking about rumors nobody is going to be %100 right all the time.

Once again most entertaining gamer show on the internet. Can't think of another gamer show that comes close to The HHG Show.

He is a gamer that favors the PS3. He basically says what most PS3 fans wish they could say to as many gamers as HHG. The key word is fan not fanboy. He has one of the few sites that will defend the PS3 from unmitigated character assassination type attempts from fanboy sites. He loves his hobby and it shows. I have to respect him for brushing off these attacks and continuing on his way to greater things to come. In life once you find what you have a passion for you have to grab it and run with it. Screw the haters who try to get in your way as they have their own agendas. He just needs to keep improving which in time I'm sure he will. I wish him luck and feel he will succeed. On a side note: I like his intro with the SF4 clips which captivates the energy and passion he displays.

It's funny how non-gamers don't see why games like Metal Gear, Final Fantasy, Castlevania, get called Dynasties. These games pan sum 20+ years, across multiple gens/systems, w/ numerous new charaters, items, weapons, stories, times, enemies, vehicles, abilities and universes. Hmmm maybe I sound like a hater, maybe I don't, I'm still right. These games, have gone through more facelifts than Joan Rivers, and I'm pretty sure she's a robot, by now LOL. Now this doesn't apply to all of them,because we all have our opinions, but a lot you haters don't like HHG because he's a black man with his own show and website about gaming in an industry that predominantly has a white face. And now that it's popular it pisses you even more off!
Same thing happens to me at my office job. Most of the white people, mainly the "higher-ups", give me this disgusted look. The kind of look where you know exactly what they're thinking:
