Talking Point: Is Virtual Console On The Slide?

At the start of 2008 VC Reviews asked a few probing questions about the state of the Virtual Console and came to the conclusion that despite some grumblings from the fan base, the service still had an awful lot to give.

Looking back on the year that has certainly been the case; gamers have been gifted with the likes of Shining Force II, Mario Golf, Super Mario RPG, Ys Book I & II, Star Parodier, Metal Slug, Lords of Thunder, StarTropics and Secret of Mana - a truly awesome selection of games, and that's just the tip of the iceberg. However, going into 2009 the picture is slightly less clear.

Strange headline, as I thought the star of the show was Super RType. I almost bought RType Dimensions EX this last month and was just thinking, man I wish we had the SNES one somewhere on Switch. That's where I got my start w the series and I was beyond excited to see it drop this week!
