Bit. Trip Beat features cooperative play for up to four players in what is, on the surface, a pretty traditional Pong-style game. The difference is that all the players' paddles are on the same side of the screen and they must cooperate to beat back a wide variety of balls of various sizes, speeds and routes. The balls are timed to arrive on your side of the screen in time to a rhythm track. Bounce them back successfully and the music plays out in all its pulsating awesomeness. Miss a ball and the track drops out for a second, sending you a clear signal that you're just not living up to the challenge.
