Ars writes: "Ever since Electronic Arts announced that they were working on an arcade style, downloadable hockey game, we've been excited. After all, there are plenty of similar games with basketball, football, and even soccer, but it's been a good while since a good, fun arcade hockey game has hit the market. So how well does 3 on 3 NHL Arcade stand up on Xbox Live or the PlayStation Network? Well we took it for a quick spin to find out.
The first thing you'll notice about the game-aside from the huge heads on all the players-are the rule changes. There are no penalties, no face-offs after goals, only three players per side, and the rink has been shrunk significantly. This creates a much faster paced game, as the neutral zone has essentially been removed. Combining this with fewer players on the ice leads to virtually no downtime: as soon as you've scored a goal, you're straight back on defense, and vice versa."
