Hiphopgamershow writes: Okay guys I just played the demo. I went in expecting so much. Graphically I was satisfied, but I just had so many problems with it.
you said killzone 2 is better than Halo 3 and gears 2 now you say its over hyped Im fine with the aiming i guess im faster picking it up than others its not bad at all Its not final build becasue its in 720P its supposed to be 1080i
what you read was from somebody else. It seems hiphopgamer has his own site where people randomly blog because this is the 2nd or 3rd story to come from that site and it lists the name as somebody else.
why can't you stick to how you started.. you had come respect back in the day by keeping it real.. now you're just a joke... Controversial.. yes.. Smart, interesting points??? sadly not anymore..
the controls are great. It takes awhile getting used to. BTW. HHG is not saying this, Killa-Indian is saying it. HHG loved the beta if you don't remember.
i believe the aiming problem was a quip many people had with the first killzone too. as long as when you're looking down the sight, the first shot is perfectly accurate, thats all i care about. can someone confirm this for me? ps3 is at home.. can't play anything until the second week of march when i go home :-(
"what you read was from somebody else. It seems hiphopgamer has his own site where people randomly blog because this is the 2nd or 3rd story to come from that site and it lists the name as somebody else." And yet it's all sensationalist crap designed to do one thing: Get ad clicks.
I understand what he is saying. The aiming is kinda tough though. In real life you don't turn that fast but you can increase the aim sensitivity if its bad. The thing is all games like COD4, Halo 3 have auto aim to compensate for poor aiming in controllers but in KZ2 there is no auto aim. You have to aim by yourself. Its tough in multiplayer but like every game the more you play the better you will get. Killing is most CERTAINLY NOT BY LUCK in multiplayer. It just requires skill. You can't just spray continuously and expect accurate shots. You have to use short bursts to up your accuracy. Its still the best FPS demo i have played EVER
long answer:nooooooooooooooooo :) edit:sonarus. thats one of the things i like best i feel like i have become almost dependent on auto aim you got to step your game up to be successful.
Dear HHG, Shut the f*ck up for 5 seconds would you? Killzone 2 requires *GASP* skill which people might have to practice and get better. Finally a game with a little challenge and no aiming assist Jesus Christ. First you claim the superbowl vid Then you say Killzone better than Halo/Gears Then you call Uncharted 2 a Gears of War Killer and on and on you and your crew are the ones overhyping killzone 2 to the point where it almost has to suck you off to meet expectations Xbox and Sony fanboys are united in asking you to please leave the internet. Halo and Gears and COD and Killzone are all good games. The End. /EDIT "Killzone 2 on track to shatter Gears 2 day one sales?" OMFG ARE YOU SERIOUS? March 1st 09 "hey whatup dis HHG im dissapointed KZ2 didnt outsell Gears 2 day 1 dat game waz overhyped yall fo real 1 luv peace" LMFAO
Wasn't the realism factor what made COD4 so big... and then the multiplayer? I swear if the guns were accurate standing still, they would gripe about that instead of the wobble that's being discribed. This rant is utter BS. You cannot have your cake and eat it, and until people realizes this, gaming critiques are not going to evolve or trancend their way out of a wet paper bag.
"Hiphopgamershow writes" yeah...i dont see why anyone continued to read after that point
Because he revealed the Killzone 2 Super Bowl Commercial... Right? Try actually caring about game journalism instead of getting hits on your site.
In what way is any opinion article posted on that guys site considered *news*? Come on people, remember what the N in N4G stands for.
The aiming is a little tough, because it's realistic. Do you relisticaly think any John Doe down the street is going to pick up a gun and get head shots on every kill? Have you ever shot a real gun before? Try picking up an assult riffle and try hitting the circle the size of a head with the actual recoil these guns put out. I've done it and i'll tell yah it aint like COD... It's not hard, just more realistic.
I dont get these ppl when a dev tries to do something different they get butchered , when they stick to they stick to the original format ppl complain about lack of innovation... the aiming takes a while to get use to but keep playing the demo and by the time the game arrives you should get the hang of it... Best FPS Demo ever and it was just 15 minutes.....can't imagine how Epic the actual game is.
He's just trying to get hits for his site.
Wow, some of you guys need to chill. One guy expresses his opinion about the demo and you guys act like he just slapped your mother across the face. lol Your desperation for the PS3 to finally get a "must have" game is making you act like 12 year olds. Not everyone had multiple orgasms while playing the demo. Get over it.
Incase you haven't realized 2007 is over.. the whole pulling PS3 doesn't have a must have game is Bullsh!t.... ppl are complaining bcuz this guy is complaining about KZ new approach to aiming instead of having it play like every other shooter out there. Had KZ2 aiming and control scheme been a total duplicate of COD4 then we would have seen countless articles bashing it for not being different...
People are complaining because they are way too emotionally invested in their PS3.
yeah i totally agree on the aiming, ive said before, its not like COD4 aiming, it feels heavier i guess, less fluid, unlike COD4, however Alt 2 is the closest to the controls, i also perfer the Aim Toggle over holding it down, especially from behind cover cuz you have to hold down L2 while behind cover and then hold down L1 to aim. this may change online however because there is no cover system playing online, and i suppose i understand why now. other then the aiming everything else is top notch. my worries are the same as the bloggers, when im online taking an hour to line up a shot that would take 1 sec on COD, plus having to plug in a whole clip to take someone down when im used to "Hardcore mode" is going to be an eye opener.
the demo was the best demo iv played 1 problem for me, you start turning and its starts slowing then speeds up (not like r2 and cod) apart from that this kills both of em..
Downloaded it and played it with the default controls. They are alright but after checking out the control config I found you could choose "ALTERNATE 2" (the x and y axis sensitivity needs to be turned up too) and this gave you the same control set up as COD MW. It felt very natural playing with that config. I'm going to reserve my judgement on this game until is get to see the multiplayer but so far I'm very very impressed. KZ2 deserves the hype it's getting.
some gamers have become so spoiled or lazy they expect the game to do everything for them. I love a challenge and that is what makes Killzone 2 a lot of fun. I wasn't sold on the demo the firs time I tried it but after a couple of tries I really enjoy it. It is very challenging and you have to do a lot of work to get an accurate shot off. I think that is what well sell me on this game...
I kinda liked the game everyting is realistic, i cant wait for the full game :)
i think the Helghan buttocks is more firm and juicy than a Covenant buttocks :)
I have yet to try out the demo, but by what this "hip hop gamer" said about the aiming has me more excited to try it out. I saw in the videos how hard it was to hit your target directly. That is one of the things that has gotten me excited, how realistic it is when you try and hit someone. I myself am a bit tired of playing these Hollywood style games where you shoot over your shoulder and still get a head shot on someone a football field's distance away. Not to mention games like Resistance where, while of course very good in their own right, your gun moves perfectly to the left or right with absolutely no kickback from the weapons. I am hoping Killzone 2 does live up to the promise of a better FPS that I have been searching for.
i feel him tho. im a big fan of kz2, but the controls are pissing me off. i know imma get used to em eventually, but i guess 2 years of call of duty did fuk me up...
change button to Alternate 2.. same as COD4..
based on that 10 minute demo, it deserves the hype. until proven otherwise, so will the full game. now, if only we can be assured that the multiplayer part will be working on day one..
Isn't this like the 1000000000000th article that has the title "Is killzone 2 being overhyped?" and much so in a retarded way? Play the demo and learn to shoot. Counter Strike has one of the MOST annoying aim and its still played by millions of players for its sheer competitiveness.
It's already surpassed the hype. It's just stupid biased American 360 extremists who can't admit defeat or get it through the delusional heads. Killzone2 has silenced the hater and they practically will have no excuses once it sells 2.5-3 million in it's first week.
No it is 3 times better than Halo.
The reason the gameplay feels weird is because you guys have been playing cod alot and that this is a whole new game with realistic gameplay u have to get used to it
It ain't precise unrealistic shooting like COD4. A lot of guns weigh over 30 or more lbs. I will say the aiming is a little to slow for my taste but that's how this game differentiates from other first person shooters which I really like.
it was awesome. The AI was superb and so was the graphics.
what i dont understand about all of the "control delays" is....WHY DONT YOU TURN UP THE SENSITIVITY? i did and now it feels pretty natural
It actually may be an issue with the demo http://boardsus.playstation... "As I said in one of the duplicate threads, let me check this out tomorrow and see if this is an issue with the demo or as intended. Chill till then"
Up sensitivity??? Naturial feeling??? Try holding a 35lb fully loaded AR15 assult rifle with the stock rails loaded with accesories and sights and then empty a clip out with 25lbs of recoil pressure and tell me upping the sensitivity's going to make it feel natural. These aren't your supersoakers kitty's. Learn what it feels like to shoot a real gun.
this game was sick i dont know what they are seeing maybe they need some new tv's
you need to get your eyes checked
I think Halo 3 was overhyped as much as Killzone 2. Does that mean they are bad games? No. Just overhyped because they are exclusives that carry the weight of expectation for each console. I don't care if Killzone 2 isn't perfect (and it won't be anything that new for sure). I just care if it is fun. Personally I'm looking forward to Alan Wake and Heavy Rain much much more because they might bring something new.
i loved the game too it was amazing, my mouth was drilling :P
The demo was jaw-dropping. I didn't have a problem with the controls either so I don't know what exactly is this guy's problem...?
I gotta say: If you don't take the time to learn the controls or change them up to suit your needs, you will have problems. But just like COD4, once you get the controls down, it's game over. I'm shocked the cover system works! I've played the demo at least 20 times (disappointingly short ya'll) and each play through has gotten better.
At first when i started to play the game i was like what the hell. Then i got into a groove (albeit a short one) and now i love the controls. heres the thing about a real gamer we can adapt to controls like a chameleon to its environment. Now after a few times with the demo it feels really natural. When i was done with the demo i played a few games of [email protected] with no problem.
kids nowwa days. everything has to be the same because people are to lazy to learn new controls
thanx dino there is no reason for all fps games to play and control like cod4. its like learn something new and move on already. oh yea bubbles up.
its over hype but its actually good. reminds me of gears 2 and COD4 combined
you have to play more than that demo. i was in the beta and it was awesome. but yeah . . . its probably overhyped. many games are
yes...now before you start bashing me..read this: jesus..i really don't understand the hype for this game..we had many fps gamed in the past..itd just graphics..thats wjy everyone talks about this game..gta4 I can understand hype...mgs4, I could understand hype...hell even lbp I could understand...but killzone2 nopw I don't see a reason to get happy for a 8-12 hr game...yes it has deep online..but what if servers go down? this why I love uncharted...its one of the few non-online games that can be pkayed over and over again...someone help me out and explain...it must not be real good since sony isn't advertising it..they did gta, nmgs, lbp, motostorm, mlb...but no killzone...something seems fishy..it looks like a good game..but I don't think it will be legendary if you disagree, at least leave a comment dont be a phantom edit: @below - but what about gta4? most people say that is the most overhyped game ever, but i disagree, it delivered some good sh!t including story, driving, cover system, graphics, and online mp...but many will disagree with me for some reason edit2: well thank for clearing that up..bubbles for both of you :)
i think the hype may not be justified for you but for those of us that LOVE the game it is. Those are the people who hype games the ones that really like it. I have never understood asking if a game is overhyped, not to the people who are hyping it. And the game is still three weeks away the advertising will come very soon. and i didnt disagree. @edit at above and i would agree with you in that i liked gtaIV myself. The thing is hype is subjective to the person/people who are doing the hyping. sometimes it can be a dangerous B*tch that comes back and bites you in the ass. Edit bubbles back.
@ Hercules, Sorry, but I have to disagree with you (and I didn't press the disagree button) The reason why I'm excited for Killzone 2 has NOTHING to do with graphics at all. Killzone 2 to me is probably one of the most Cinematic shooters I've ever seen in my life, and I truly beleive the game REALLY captures what the developers were talking about, that "Theater of War." One other thing that I like about Killzone 2 is the amount of things going at one time during gameplay and there's almost always this sense Chaos going on all around you, and it's nothing like I've ever seen. It's the small details like the Cover System and the Enemy Hit response system that makes Killzone 2 so satisfying and so different to me. And most of all what I love about KZ2 and why I was so excited for it is the Realism, because until I played the first Killzone, I had never played a FPS game that felt so realistic and I really loved it. Personally I think the majority of people that are only excited for KZ2 because of graphics are people that haven't played the first Killzone game, but I have many more reasons for wanting KZ2 other than just graphics.
i played it 9 times without taking a break and i didnt get bored.
The game looks like realistic and it must be realistic.. and the aiming, looks realistic too. If you fire, your aim changed trough the gun his return, its simple as that. And Killzone 2 is not overhyped, this game deserves his hype. Its from Holland FTW!!
ooooh hiphopgamer...I love NOT clicking your links.
Killzone2s shooting is much different but I like it it forces you to be more creative and think of new strategys.
...but it really bothers me when people say "I wish the controls were more like COD". Yes, KZ2 takes alot of ideas from games, notably COD and uses them to their advantage. But expecting to game to be JUST like COD is just bothersome. The game isn't going to be CoD4 because its KZ2. It has its own take, its own style, its own way of running. Yeah, as the article said, it goes for realism. All it takes is time. I thought I would struggle with the controls but I have adpated to well to the Standard 1 controls, since I think the R3 aim works well with the cover system. What I really am trying to say is, even though COD was great, this isn't COD. Adapt to the controls, its what gamers do.
when GTA IV went for realism it was a bad thing, now killzone2 does it, its a good thing? im so lost edtit: first oyu werent first to make friends, you could deny them anyway you choose, and if im not mistaken, dont you need friends in killzone, you know your teammates? secondly, well they only i know is jack thompson, he only helped it grow
because Killzones realism doesn't involve spending half you game time doing things like making AI friends.
Also because GTAIV was always cartoon violence. Taking into realism caused a sh!tstorm with all the people that have wanted the series banned from day one. Killzone 2 is a FPS in a fantasy world. The fighting is realistic but its on an alien planet. GTAIV was made to look like New York and look very, very real.
"when GTA IV went for realism it was a bad thing, now killzone2 does it, its a good thing? im so lost " My problem with GTA4 wasn't so much the realism, for me it was the lack of content in the game and stuff to do. San Andreas had just SOOOO much more things to do in the game, and I played San Andreas for about 2 years before I put it down... but GTA4 just got really repetitive pretty quick for me Because San Andreas had so much variety, the gameplay didn't get as repetitive as quick. If GTA4's map was as big as San Andreas and had the same amount of content (customizable cars, more character customization, Airplanes, More Helicopters, ATV's, More Places to explore like San Andreas, etc....) I would have been pretty satisfied with it.
Just because the guy that wrote this didn't come out satisfied as he thought doesn't mean KZ2 is being overhyped, it's really all a matter of opinion. Personally I think that anyone that hasn't played KZ2 should at least play KZ1. Yes, KZ1 was technically flawed, but at least that way you would get used to the feel of the game. I've had KZ1 for over a year now, so I'm used to the slower pace and feel of the game, so I know what to expect from KZ2 in terms of gameplay. And I don't see whats wrong with people not being able to adapt to new games... did people really expect for KZ2 to play just like COD4? It's probably going to take some people a while to get used to it, but eventually you should be able to adapt to it. Because the guns in KZ2 recoil in a realistic manner, you aren't going to be able to pull off shots the same way like in COD. In Killzone 2 you have to work a little harder for your kills.
AclayPS3: "Just because the guy that wrote this didn't come out satisfied as he thought doesn't mean KZ2 is being overhyped, it's really all a matter of opinion." So very true!
I think the combat in KZ2 is satisfying and challenging. But you have to put the time in (as with ANY shooter).
I fully agree with you, people dont must compare Killzone 2 with CoD4, its an total other game. People in CoD4 are playing for there own. Run, kill, run, kill, run, kill. In Killzone 2 you must work in a TEAM!
@poster, if you dont like it, get a rope, tie it across your neck, take the base of the rope and tie it also acroos a horizontal platform, then drop down, and you would be killzoneeed! hiphoo************ has always been plain, dumb, stupid, unassuming and unintellegent. what a waste!
This guy is just a lil B (you can finish the rest). The game has a realistic feel to it. You can feel the weight of the player which is great. Sure it's a little slower paced, but remember that in the multiplayer the classes have a lot more skills at their disposal, so it will be a nice balance between run and gun and tactics. It's going to be great. It's not over hyped, it's a solid game with great graphics and gameplay...don't let controls get to you just because you're not used to them. Nuff said.
the hype for killzone has not even started, when it begins we should be seeing like 4million pre-orders worldwide!
