The final door. The final boss. When expectations are at their highest, what determines the developer's ability to deliver? Regardless of whether or not it is a physical door that ferries the player from calm to climax, the moments that occur as one traverses that divide are filled with anticipation. An intense and fulfilling finale characterizes many of the most adored games and ultimately, a strong finish is what leaves players with fond memories as opposed to bitter tastes. Who doesn't remember end game showdowns with Bowser or Ganon?
