A new batch of screen shots and art work from Underwater Wars.
A few issues back games took a look at Hydrophobia, the upcoming water-based action-adventure from newly formed studio Dark Energy Digital. Its focus is on allowing water to run free within the game's environments, utilising it as an element that can be advantageous to the player as a tool in their arsenal, or a destructive force that can easily overcome those that don't mind its power.
Hydrophobia isn't out until next year, but it's already shaping up to be something different at the very least; the utmost effort put into making each torrent of water or subtle ripple as convincing and lifelike as possible. U-Wars – a contraction that stands for the rather unimaginative Underwater Wars – is similarly making water its focal feature. However, while Dark Energy Digital has looked for new ways to make water a challenging game design element and complex puzzle-solving tool, Russian Studio Biart has done little other than use it as a flimsy excuse for originality.
For over a decade, Soule has provided music for some of the most successful and admired games of all time. Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, the Harry Potter videogame adaptations, Total Annihilation, SOCOM: The Navy Seals and the The Elder Scrolls series can all attribute music to him.
Default Prime has got two more screens for you U-Wars. The highly anticipated underwater action strategy game being developed by Biart. The game's coming out on the PSP, Xbox 360, and PC. Here are a couple of screens of the game running.
Why is the player the only one not wearing an oxygen mask? It looks like GeoW with Fallout 3 graphics, or any other Unreal Engine title that isn't Epic's own GeoW. I'm not expecting much. GeoW and Uncharted are my favorite TPS franchises.

...How the HECK could this be on PSP?!? Screenshots of the actual PSP version would be more welcome and on the whole, less confusing.

Looks promising. Nice to see new third party games that I haven't heard of making their way to the 360. Would like to see some gameplay footage before I get too hyped about it though.
