It is only a few weeks into 2009, and already GamesRadar has seen what is likely the first of many games shoved from their comfortable 2009 release dates into the uncertain depths of 2010.
guys, why are people allowing gamesradar articles on this? they are the equivalent of a forum post on gametrailers... fanboys all over, its garbage, not credible and doesnt deserve site hits. stop posting their articles and quit clicking on their website...its garbage
>stop posting their articles and quit clicking on their website...its garbage It is ironic that you say that on N4G, which is owned by the same company. (scroll to the bottom of the page friend)
Gameyrader has no creditability at all when they supposedly "Review Preview" of games and with no actual reason "reviewed" KZ2 a 5/10. They even try to defend those statements at Neogaf and got burnt.
The 5/10 "review" for KZ2 was part of a larger, tongue-in-cheek article in which a bunch of editors got together and gave out tentative scores to games that were on display at last year's E3, based on 10 minutes of play. The article said as much. It was never meant to be taken seriously as anything other than preliminary impressions of unfinished games.
well despite all that...they do simply say HR will not hit 2009 'just because'... they don't believe the release date...because they 'don't like release dates anymore' because MGS4 was delayed out of 2007...and they say 'tricky hardware' is also the problem... what...ever...that site is trash...plain and simple...there is absolutely no justification for what they are saying...that is why people have a problem with them...its bait...always...and nothing more...
>they don't believe the release date...because they 'don't like release dates anymore' because MGS4 was delayed out of 2007...and they say 'tricky hardware' is also the problem... No, they say: "Well, the trailer says 2009, and Heavy Rain has been called Sony’s “most important” game of 2009 by David Cage, founder of developer Quantic Dream, which indicates that the company is at least planning to get the game out the door sometime this year. However, the combination of reportedly tricky-to-program-for machinery, a small development team and one of the most graphically ambitious adventure games ever does not fill us with confidence. "And really, we haven’t trusted release dates on trailers since Metal Gear Solid 4 kept getting pushed back, so the “2009” date for this eerie suspense story is already suspect." Seriously, you read that and thought they said they "don't like release dates anymore?"
Ignore, delete, etc.
Whats funny are the lists of Sonys lineup that I have seen on here in just about every article. It just keeps getitng smaller and smaller and there only retlaiation is the 360/pc argument. I would rather share a game with the PC then to not get it a all. Its ok though, 2010 is right around the corner.......Just Wait........................
"It is ironic that you say that on N4G, which is owned by the same company.(scroll to the bottom of the page friend)" Now I finally understand why this site is the way it is.
Gameyradar just wants hits like most sites these days. These guys aren't journalists, they know their grammar, but they sure as hell don't bother to write objective and fair articles. They write whatever generates the most views. Why otherwise would they name the article "No Heavy Rain until 2010?". Writing negative things about the Playstation 3 or Sony in general seems to generate the most hits these days, and they state themselves that David Cage has said that Heavy Rain might be Sony's most important game of 2009. As such, the reason behind the name is obvious. The article itself isn't too bad since they don't hide the fact that they're just speculating. They do however throw in a few "looks dull"; "not impressive" comments to generate a little more buzz among the fanboys.
@2 How about we choose the articles we read. Don't like GR? Don't click the link. It's as simple as that broseph. @2.9 GamesRadar likes to have fun. I know, I frequent it more than N4G. N4G is nice for info, but it's like watching the news. GamesRadar is like watching a funny news program like the ones on Comedy Central.
FudRadar is really getting on my nerves. I've read the article, I'm just tired of the website.
Let's all ignore the fact Alan Wake is also mentioned in the article, shall we?
another potential aaa ps3 game thats not a dam shooter or action game ps3s lineup is looking sweet
KillZone 2 ONLY on PS3 ;-P Uncharted 2: Micro$oft are Thieves ONLY on PS3 ;-P GT5 ONLY on PS3 ;-P God Of War 3 ONLY on PS3 ;-P FF 13 Versus ONLY on PS3 ;-P MAG ONLY on PS3 ;-P White Knight Chronicles ONLY on PS3 ;-P (Rest of the World) Flower: For xBox 360's DEATH ONLY on PS3 ;-P InFamous ONLY on PS3 ;-P EyePet:pp ONLY on PS3 ;-P New Team ICO Game ONLY on PS3 ;-P Jak 4 ONLY on PS3 ;-P (Maybe they are making it) Fat Princess[Gabe Newell] ONLY on PS3 ;-P Ratchet&Clank:Search for Clank ONLY on PS3 ;-P +More Cool;) LBP DLC ONLY on PS3 ;-P DC Universe Online ONLY on PS3 ;-P PJ:Dungeon ONLY on PS3 ;-P Resident Evil 5 (Better Version) ;-P +LOADS of other Games and PSN Stuff and HOME Stuff and Cool Updates for the PS3!!! ;-P etc etc...
I'm not sure RE5 will be better on PS3... Then again, Capcom has said that the ability to create their own servers for the Playstation Network has made online play on the PS3 more stable. That and the controller is better for the control scheme.
i must buy a ps3 NOOWWWWW!!! oh wait no
This is a ridiculous title for the article. It's about like 15 different games, not just Heavy Rain. Not only that, but of all the game's mentioned in this article, Heavy Rain is easily the MOST LIKELY to come out in 2009, and the reasons they gave for it being possibly delayed are really weak. The entirety of their argument basically boils down to "The game looks really beautiful and the PS3 is hard to program for." That's just stupid. Quantic Dream have a lot of really impressive engineers working for them that understand the PS3 hardware, have the full support of Sony and other Sony developer's, the game has been in development for a long time, and the script, voice recording, and motion capture are all finished. We've also seen gameplay footage, which means they've got it playable and running. Sony has been showing us more and more of it every month for a while now, and there's a big feature on the game in the latest edition of Qore. There's really little reason to expect it NOT to come in 2009, all things considered. Comment Edited to reflect the fact that it's GamesRadar's crappy title and not the fault of Bloodmask.
That is the article's original title. Just let that sink in for a moment. Games on multiple platforms, some, like Alan Wake, announced earlier than Heavy Rain, and the title goes straight to the PS3 exclusive.
Wow. So it is. I read the entire article and never once did it ever occur to me that the title could POSSIBLY be what the title was over here at the N4G version of it. Why do they single out Heavy Rain? Not to mention that their entire article is assumption & speculation, it's not there's some kind of new evidence that could suggest Heavy Rain coming in 2010. Very, very misleading (and STUPID) title. This makes me respect GamesRadar even less, that I thought the title was a fake/FUD/fanboy manifestation on N4G, but that's the actual title? For shame.
> Why do they single out Heavy Rain? Because there's a ton of interest for Heavy Rain, and by extension a ton of people who will click on an article with it in the headline. Incidentally, try clicking the 360 and PC tabs at the top of the page and see how the article's promoted on those pages. 360: No Alan Wake until 2010? PC: No Half-Life until 2010?
Heh, dynamic titles, pretty weird.
Well then that does SOMEWHAT show Bloodmask's anti-PS3 bias. He chooses the one with the PS3 game in the title to submit. Heh.
honestly I wouldn't mind if Heavy Rain was delayed to 2010, my wallet is going to be hurting enough as is and I would really like to finally get a PSP this year.
^topcat agrees sony does it again 3rd generation in a row
yup in 3rd place
hope this article doesnt jynx it
You mean a high priority game could be delayed? what a shock, never saw that one coming...
an xbot bringing up sales whats new
CRY MOAR!!!! HAHAHA 3RD PLACE LOOOOOSER
and what if the rest of the crowd jumped off a bridge? that's what I thought. sales don't make your games better douche bag.
sorry jack who i dont listen to self centered teenagers who think they know everything
if i was a teenage i would agree...but you failed again.
Too early to tell on a lot of those games. However, they forgot to include StarCraft II as a possible. However, the title is indeed stupid and used to draw in PS3 and 360 fanboys.
Who cares sh!t game is sh!t no matter when it comes out
This list is about several games not just Heavy Rain, so why the f-ed up headline. So Xbox fanatics bests hopes are that SONY's superior exclusives get delayed.. haha, I smell desperation or the rotting pile of Xbox fanatics hopes and dreams. Bloodmask, you are just getting more pathetic with every desperate attempt to give your meaningless life purpose.
im crying my @ss off right now for being in third place and from the amazing ps3 game line up with no end in sight yea yea sure sure ... oh and i like playing real games something this generation of gamers will never know about cause they just there mindless blood soaked shooters
360s biggest fanbase = teenagers = biggest market to sell garbage too or what the masses flock to
got any proof to back that up...Oh wait never mind. :]
There was no news a bout this game being multiplatform considering they should change the title and I doubt that its going to come out in 2010 considering the title itself has a (?) meaning they don't know for sure so yeah this article is bull crap.
or the dev says otherwise. HR is coming this year. End of story.
struggle to handle good games like motorstorm 1 and 2 and uncharted drake of fortune heavy rain and killzone2 makes 360 and wii look like last gen and makes 360 wii outdated the graphics and gameplay what really shows what a real next gen is all about reconsider dvd9 is so old and a thing of the past
lol no sh!t whoever thought this was coming in 09 was a idiot so besides K2 and uncharted 2 -(game is going to kick ass) 2010 will be the year of the ps3 ....gt5...gow3...heavy rain...the precious ff verus...lol
09 is sonys too
Delaystation3 remains in third place.
Hopefully it wont happen
More crap from Gamesradar. They should change their name to crap.com because they rarely have anything worth reading.
sucks to be sony right now.
Oh SHUT UP with you're theories, gamesradar.
I played Indigo Prophecy on the original Xbox and liked it alot. Seeing Heavy Rain looking so awesome and having me be a 360 owner makes me a sad panda. Rock on with your sweet exclusives, PS3 owners.
I'm quite certain that Hevanly Rain will be out this year. along with HR, God of War 3, Drakes 2, infamous, a Ratchet and Jak apperance, and The Agency, will make it this year as well. However, I am not too sure about Grand T. 4, Final fantasy Vs., or MAG...due to the (HOPEFULLY) successful Killzone 2, and Drakes 2 exclusives. MS and Nintendo sure hopes that a lot of these games don't come on time, as this combined with a spring price cut coudl do some serious damage to them.
jealousy/inferiority complex? what else could it be the most tragic people i've ever come across are the xbots on this website....truly so very tragic. no life, life friends, no real life experiences, no sex, no respect! seriously, you need to realise there is a better way to live. i pity everyone of you
From the tone they where actually saying these games should be delayed because they are in trouble of sucking. Hey it's their opinion based on what they have seen but the dev's have not show footage for their own reasons. I don't blame them and really these guys are simply doing what critics did to that dreamcast epic I dare not mention. It's really weird how the media has actually been more about hyping only a select few games. Could it be that sites and fans like this will spell the end of hardcore gaming? Too much hype and anti hype are both bad. If a game fails then fine move on. Maybe they will learn and if not then they don't really need to be making games for console then.
