Ars Review: Skate 2 requires an investment, but pays off in the end

Skate 2 has one purpose, and that's to put you in the feet of a skater and give you the thrill that comes from finally nailing that trick. The "holy hell, did you see that!" factor of this game is high--playing with friends in the same room is much better than even meeting them online, and the game mode where you have to wipe out in the most spectacular fashion in front of passers-by is inspired.

This is a more involved take on the world of skating, even if the dialog may be a little over the top, and the highest praise Ars can give the title is that the next time they play a Tony Hawk game, they're going to miss this control scheme, not the other way around.
