Hawks reportedly played an online X-Box game with the boy and also the child's father.

Hawks traveled Jan. 15 by bus from Burton, Mich., near Flint, to Parma. He called the victim's family when he arrived and asked if he could stay with them. Hawks said he'd joined the National Guard and was to ship out in February.

This is ridiculous!

The dad should be arrested for First Degree Stupidity

It makes me laugh. Sucks to be the 12 year old. Must feel like a right nancy girly pants poofy f*g.

"A man raped me" sounds so girly and wrong for a boy. Is it me or did boy rape start since Michael Jackson's acusations? I never heard of any such cases before MJ's.

This world gets crazier by the year. Sorry for sounding homophobic but gosh! A BOY?!!

So now I invented rape too..?

DOH!

cactuschef3245d ago

Its a sad, cold, nasty fact, but boys have been getting raped by men for a VERY long time. This isn't something new, and Micheal Jackson didn't invent it. The Greeks more than likely invented it in ancient times.

I think rapists should be shot dead on the spot (if proven guilty in a court of law).

With that said, the father is partly to blame for trusting a complete stranger.

It is a mental illness where they seek to sexually dominate someone lesser than them. Often pedophiles were molested themselves as children and carry that behavior into adulthood - the abused becomes the abuser (I'm not excusing or empathizing with the behavior, I find the concept revolting; I'm just explaining it).

In any event, this is a terrible tragedy and my condolences to the boy and his family. It's sad that we live in an age where we can't really trust people anymore.

It's also equally disturbing how many of these offenders are lurking on Live. MS could benefit from some advanced parental controls on their system. I'm amazed that none of these stories have bled out to the mainstream press and tarnished their image. Money well spent, I guess. I'd rather see that money filtered towards improving the safety of the service than stifling the media.

Burying your head in the sand doesn't make the problem go away.
